I’m camping at Les Combes as I couldn’t get on the main car park on Wednesday night, plenty of caravans but no hook up (or toilets or showers, just a field). 2 mins walk to the track, half an hour wander to the paddock.
It’s on a slope, but so are most things around here, there’s plenty of decent pitches around though. I usually camp here for the 24, have a few times for the WEC, it’s a bit hit and miss if you have to pay not, has always been 40-50 euros when I have paid, a man has just been round wanting €90, but happily accepted €70 when I showed him that was all I had.

I think I'd want showers and toilets as a minimum. I've been to Spa a few times, always B+B nearby. Just thought bringing the gin palace would be a decent alternative.

There’s toilets just inside the track, and showers in the paddock, for the 24 hours they have both on the campsite

€90 is cheeky for what it is, think the official camping was advertised at €40, but I’ve camped here several times in the past without paying a penny so swings and roundabouts

I’m not, since F1 bumped it from its traditional date it’s too close to Le Mans for me, have done 7 (I think) though

I’m in Francorchamps Camping 35 - booming music and disco tent but decent pitch for e120

Initially upset as 50c for p and 2.50 for shower but they placed brits together and everybody friendly and toilets and showers very good. 700 m from La Source and a few restaurants and a pizza place there

Good drive to spa for supermarket and I think a small shop at nearby petrol station

Second half of Kemmel is great for viewing and overtakes.

But do feel a bit sick after crash and had moved along the banking a few times so could have been too close

Well done to the WEC officials for restarting the race.

One of the best organisational decisions I can remember in motorsport.

Rather than being a disappointment and a somewhat unjust set of results we ended up with competitors getting a fair go, happy punters and a race which will be remembered for all the right reasons.bow

Now we have a precedent expect Le Mans to finish at 6pm local.biggrin

Great idea. I WISH I could have gone.

And a great result for a privateer team. From Kent, too!

Good race overall

Great race - end was good but they did spend a lot of time and still have back runner hypercars on wrong place IMO.

Weather unbelievably good in day and really cold at night camping compared to LM

A few gaps on timetable so next time need to get pitwalk ticket too

Stands great - their big screens are few and tiny - so small binocs or telephoto lens need to see positions

Toilets much better than LM, food and beer queues pretty long and slow and food outlet in one of main stands ran out after 90 mins of race

Great track and so much more access to critical high speed passing places

Need to take stuff in - my bad never checked- as didn’t eat for about 12 hours on Saturday until hotdog in last 15 mins or so on Kemmel

Roving grandstands pretty excellent in Euro 60 to 70 fee for three days.

Big newish stands Endurance (before stream/dip/fan zone) and Raidillon filled up pretty full but still a few good spaces 30 mins or so before start unless you were in a big group.

No stewards at all so usual bad behaviour of late comers or anyone with a camera who thinks they can stand at front and block views or partial views of first 10 to 15 rows. Endurance small seatback but most stands no seat backs - thin seat cushions quite popular with DTM fans there. Endurance stand is closer to the tiny big screen so can follow build up at start and race progress/incidents etc - probably best with small binoculars

Loads of space after 45 mins of race.

GS’s therefore better than LM!!!!!

Lots of natural banking (especially Kemmel straight) and good vantage points plus shade from forest areas next to track circuit paths.

Access to pretty much entire circuit with circular path (all except SW corner area - Campus and Paul Frere turn and run out). Track open for hour or so both Thursday and Friday if want to run it or walk parts).

Beer cheaper and better than LM and food traders a bit more diverse but still usual queues etc at race day.

Only found supermarkets at Spa 15 mins drive away from Francorchamps/La Source entrance area (getting there from other parts of track may be difficult unless out very early). Beware of Ascension Day (although Delhaize was only one open).

Can see why most people don’t stay Saturday night. Thursday noisiest & latest at campsite then Friday and Saturday pretty dead by 11pm.
