I would love to be proved wrong, I hope the change of doctor's assistant isn't another BBC box ticking exercise.

The BBC are uploading the episodes to iPlayer at Midnight on Fridays, so the first two episodes are already available to watch if you can’t wait until 6:20pm.

I'll give this a go. I don't consider a Black Doctor in the slightest bit woke, not even remotely, so hopefully it'll be OK and a return to form after a decade of box ticking fascistic ste.

The new Doctor is fine, the new companion too, and they have great chemistry- but the talking babies and the snot jokes...then, we get Frank n' Furter screeching away for much of the second episode, which has some Poundland Beatles and a bloody awful song and dance number at the end.

The episodes are already out- the streaming release is the new norm.

Less than half an hour in and I am so disappointed. The plot is absurd and just as woke as the previous series. Who is this garbage supposed to appeal to. It's not for me.

I know, but there's a convention on PH about spoilers.

I don't care - I'm not watching it, but this thread appeared in My Stuff.

I happily respect spoiler conventions, except the material has been released for 19 hours as I type, so where do we draw the line?

I'd suggest the line is drawn after the terrestrial broadcast. Given it's a children's show, I assume there are PHers who watch it with their kids when it's on the telly rather than over breakfast.

yes I gave it a chance as I thought the new Dr was quite good last time we saw him, but nope it's a fking badly written mess, for people with the attention span of a goldfish.
