527l boot and 57l frunk, That's not that small, let alone tiny. For example BMW iX1 is 13cm shorter and has 27l less boot space. Your remark is incorrect.
What's a 'frunk'? Are you an American?

No frunk unless that plastic lid lifts up

I believe no car in this country has a 'frunk', because it's Britain and not America. (You do know that Beetles and 911's have been on the planet quite a while now?)

Range shown is mostly dependent on how the car has been driven in the past. A demo model of the N is unlikely to have been previously driven in anything less than furiously. Stating other manufacturers claimed ranges is hardly fair - Hyundai claim 395 miles iirc.

It’s not really, try an IX and it’ll make your GLE feel like a steam automotive.

I’m not a full convert, still have a supercharged v8 and a twin turbo flat 6 - but the EV gets used more.
Mate of mine has an iX........... I'll take the steam locomotive.

So to you saying "However nobody is buying electric as a "heart" purchase anyway" my riposte is "nobody when taking cost out of the equation would prefer to fly coach than first class"!
The vibe I generally get from EVs threads is that it is always about the cheaper running costs and the better efficiency of electric. So to flip that on its head...surely if money wasn't an object then hardly anyone would be driving around in an electric car anyway I reckon.

In saying that, I haven't driven a luxury EV yet, so I'm not in a strong place to criticise really in fairness. I need a go in a "nice" EV to see what all the fuss is about to be honest really.
I agree, I pick up on the efficiency cost thing too when reading those threads too. I do not agree that few people would drive around in electric cars though, not least because of their utterly ballistic performance compared to an ICE equivalent - say what you like but for most particularly non-enthusiast people, acceleration matters a lot more than handling and as long as their creature comforts/conveniences are met then that will swing it for many.

With that being said the Spectre is an entirely different kettle of fish compared to anything else I've ever driven - to me, if there was a segment of the market that electric power is 100% suited to, it's high-end luxury. I don't care about noisy Lambos and Ferrari for day-to-day driving; I want comfort, quiet, and 'waftability' and to that end, a luxury car with a V12 that is already hushed, already balanced and already tuned for smoothness will never match what I've experienced in that Spectre. I was genuinely sad to get out of it!

You really do need to try a good EV Lee (just as there are good ICE cars and rubbish ones so is the same true for EVs).

But It’s not all about saving money (or even the planet), my EV (bought outright, no tax breaks), was the first time I’ve ever been motivated to buy a brand new car in my nearly 60 years, that’s how impressed I was. It’s certainly cost me more, even when you consider the fuel savings, than continuing to tool around in an old 911, but most of the time it’s just better. And greener, that’s a bonus for me.

It’s also not about being a car enthusiast or not (did I mention 911 which I still have?) it’s more than I don’t really want to experience on the limit handling on the road, the track’s the place for that. (My enjoyment of grip under braking, trail breaking and cornering comes in part from pushing to the edge where there’s a reasonable chance you will lose it, I know some people enjoy savouring good handling at more sedate speeds but I really don’t ) and enjoying EV acceleration is a relatively safe thrill by comparison.

Exactly why EVs hold little appeal..

There's obviously some enhanced sound when inside the vehicle, but the external exhaust noise is quite real.

The Ioniq 5 N on the other hand has completely fake internal noise, and completely fake external noise with the embarrassment of speakers (extra weight/cost) to pump out sounds to passers by. frown

Misha is a very good driver, and anyone that's ever driven a tourist day understands there is a huge mix of driver abilities, hence nothing can be read into outright vehicle performance.

Interesting that all other EVs he's driven can't complete a single lap without dropping into a low power mode, and many of them have shot brakes within 3 corners redface

It could be twice as fast and some people couldn't give 2 fks. Isn't the N quicker than some Ferrari's: I doubt the Fezza driver cares.
