Maybe it works in its own way, but I just wouldn't want an auto in this kind of car.

A Plus Four in manual, though, would do nicely lick
To be fair, my perfect Morgan would be one of the older Plus 4 models, even with the 1.6, a nice dark green or blue with black wheels...although I saw a lovely lime green one with black wires looked epic!!

Something like this is lovely to my eyes..

Love these but that steering wheel and gear change thing look totally incongruous.

Love those Morgans, the Plus 6 also, but would mis a manual, that said, would not really hold me back (hoping for a conversion to manual lol)
The chassis of those later models must be good.

ok, the more 'top' Plus model for me is the Plus 8 GTR, but boy are those expensive...
see this example, made a lot cheaper, but stil a lot, very special though. really love this color combo.

and ow, its a Manual.

The 3 Series gearstick is just so out of place, I don't want to say it ruins the interior but it kind of does
Echo these thoughts and others... that photo of the interior with that tacky looking auto shifter just ruins it for me. A stubby short-shift manual is what's needed.

The BMW shifter looks like an aftermarket product in this car, totally out of place. A discrete rotary knob would be much better. Even better than that would be a manual gearbox!
agreed, but there seem to be a option, or is it aftermarket?

I saw one automatic Plus 6 with a stick ala manual, but of course its the looks. not the manual, a bit like Porsche gt4-RS has, although it would confuse me as a manual driver hehe

but it looks way better, ah here from a Plus 6 car for sale

in this lovely example

agree.
this new platform is taking the same modern chassis technique as Lotus and Aston Martin, and strapping a retro body on top. I think you go all in with the archaic chassis and enjoy it for what it is - both charming and frustrating. otherwise they're a bit like expensive handbags, all form and no function.

Lovely, but the lack of rollover protection would scare me. Am I just being too cautious?
No, you’re definitely not.
But you are overlooking the total lack of side-impact protection #scaryanachronism

Manual would be nice.... BUT, if I remember correctly, there's not much space in the footwell and automatic is a much better choice if you're intending to do longer rides/voyages as there's nowhere to rest your left foot with a manual.

A Morgan automatic? No sir, how terribly ungentlemanly of you to think such a thing. Sorry sir, we do not sell to cads or bounders….

On a serious note - I’m becoming very tempted by a Morgan. They feel like something so British and of times gone by, would sit very nicely alongside my Series 2a…..

Feels neither fish nor foul. Too uncomfortable to be a tourer and too undeveloped to really be a sports car.

I guess maybe if you have 5 other cars you would find a role for this one....

I've always admired Morgan but never actually wanted one!

But an Auto does seem inappropriate in a retro car like that.

Also don’t get it.

A manual +8 would br perfect.
I had a manual +8 in 1978.

Would only consider an auto these days.

What happened to the roof? Is it broken, or is that some sort of hard top? Otherwise something is very wrong.

It looks lovely in my opinion, perfect. I’m really considering a plus 6. Must have a drive in one

Anyone who buys a Morgan with an auto box needs to take a step back and ask themselves what car they wanted again... because an auto Morgan probably isn't it.
I'd love an auto, particualley a good box with shifters.
I've got a 6 speed manual Morgan (2014 Roadster) and with the benefit of that experience I would definitely want an auto with paddles - I do also have an old six pot M135i (2014 again) with the ZF box - if I could put that drive-train into my Roadster I think it would be ideal, which of course is exactly what Morgan have done!
I would also say though that any Morgan is an indulgence and should really only be considered as a bit of fun for the weekend and not taken too seriously...

Thought i would have a play on the Morgan configurator.
“Your Device does not currently support this Morgan Motor Company configurator.”
I have an iPad Pro 5th Gen so not exactly old tech so i was wondering that being Morgan i should be using something like Microsoft MS-DOS or maybe an old Amiga PC.
“Please visit using a compatible browser on a Desktop or Laptop”
Do i assume that Morgan still only have landlines in Malvern and have yet to hear about the new fangled technology called mobile phones and tablets.
I use Firefox (latest version) on my iPad though even trying the configurator with Safari it would not work.
“SAFARI … Currently not supported due to Apple not updating to latest technology.)
We will update this page once a compatible version is active“ biglaugh

The exterior looks great. I think the brand image positioning can and will work well for them.

But auto, with THAT shifter? Red flag for me (even if i wasnt about £80k short!) The rest of the interior has definitely caught up so it doesn't stand out so much, but not quite there for me yet.

Ok, I will - it absolutely does ruin the interior!
