I’ll join in. I’m not sure if it was the warm weather or the fact I was wearing a light summer jacket and gloves, but the bike felt the best it ever has today.

I was due to be away for a long weekend biking in Wales with 5 mates, I shopped my little finger off at the knuckle 10 days ago so couldn’t go…they sent me a picture today…notice the hand signals:

Was out for a ride in stunning weather today…
and decided to put my old 999 up for sale. Why? Two main reasons. Firstly, I can’t get along with the riding position. I end up having to brace my weight against the bars too much and it screws up my lines into corners and over bumps. Secondly, though it may have only 140 bhp, it seems to goad me into riding at high speeds on every country road.

Just a quick round up of the past month or so.... went on a track day at Castle Combe and ended up having quite a nasty crash. Nothing broken, but my ankle and wrist are sprained and my wrist is still not great. Here's a pic before I ended up at the RUH

Thought I'd best get back on a bike ASAP as the crash was almost 3 weeks a go, so I got the GSXR mot'd this morning and put in 100 miles. The wrist was a little sore but it was lovely to get out and I love this old thing. Have ridden it on track a lot but still appreciate it on the road.

A shame you want to sell, but I get the reasons… The 749/999 looks have really matured well, lovely bike

I managed about the same around the Wolds and the Northern Fens. I see there are now average speed cameras around Willingham Woods, I can understand why but hope they don't spread further out.

Yeah, shame, but the way some dicks ride past there made it pretty inevitable something would be done. As always, a small minority ruin it for the rest. This is where I went yesterday, the route changed a bit as part of it was closed by the Police.

Been off most of the week so put in some miles. Up to Monyash on Thursday for the first time this year, testing out my new cardo edge with a mate. Very useful for advising about potholes and other obstacles - fk, the roads are atrocious in places! Yesterday was Prescott Italia at the hill climb course near Cheltenham. I met another V7 riding mate for a look around all the shiny shiny and to watch a few bits of Italian exotica run up the hill - and quite a few 500s and Puntos! Got a bit sunburned...

Nice route that, I miss the Lincs roads. I agree about that spot around the woods, there was always serious bellendery on show
