a basic 5.0 for the engine experience
Discussion
After 5 years of EVs, my last being a Taycan CT 4S, I swapped out for a Mustang 5.0 GT a couple of weeks ago. 72 plate with 11k miles on it - very clean.
My concerns prior to purchase were economy, going to a manual (I wanted a proper one), the handling and the space in the back for the kids.
Now things have bedded in, I’m absolutely delighted with my decision, with none of the concerns an issue at all. And I do about 1,200 miles a month.
Car had a stage 1 suspension pack from MAP and has Borla S Type with X Pipe and JLT intake. 481bhp on the dyno.

Anyway, the sound is good but the OPFs IMO ruin pretty much any car sound, regardless of backbox.
So I’ve booked in to get the headers done.
My biggest concern here is motorway drone - for anyone that has a similar setup, is this going to be an issue?
I really don’t mind how loud it is when it’s meant to be loud. It’s more that I still want to retain some level of quietness at motorway speeds. Anyone got any views on this?
I also deliberated on X-Force Vs American Racing. I love the look of the AR but I’m told once they’re on the car, there’s zero difference in power gains or sound. Anyone have any experience of this? MAP did the intake and tune previously and are doing the headers.
If you're on faceache join simply mustangs and/or mustangsunleashed. Loads of people with exhaust mods on there (me included but only H pipe = no drone). long tube headers, sports cats and x pipe does create drone some users have said.So I’ve booked in to get the headers done.
