"widescreen and ultra-widescreen support"
Finally! I had to use a mod to get it to display on my 21:9 screen back when I used to play it, which was ok-ish unless you were wearing power armour as the visor overlay wouldn't cover the entire width and kind of ruined the immersion somewhat. i had to remove the steam hi res pack (pre update) as the game would only get 5fps on my X3D system ...
i have never seen the game run so smoothly before or look so good

Can't even get mine to launch...just sits at a black screen after telling me it's selected Ultra for my graphics settings...and then crashes after 10 minutes of 'not responding'.
Was a brand new install too as I'd decided it would be best to remove the original (working) install to get rid of all/any mods.

Try this. Go to the options/advanced and make sure weapon debris is off, they still haven't fixed that bug.
Fixed it...it doesn't seem to like full-screen, but windowless+borderless works. Was planning on starting a new game anyway, but all my old saves are gone (not in Steam, not in Steam folder, not in game folder, not in mygames/save folder).

Decided to try a new game (considering when last played it was on my old PC my old saves were still available through Steam). Shame the Pipboy Android App appears to be no more and I did use it first time round.
Anyone got an apk for it that works with the latest versions of Android ?

Actually tried to play Fallout 4 last night just to have a look around check out the frame cap removal and make sure things weren't sped up or physics messed up, but I couldn't move, my keyboard was unresponsive I couldn't even ESC out to the menu. For some bizarre reason it was locked to a controller. This is a clean install, no controller was connected. Had to edit the prefs.ini to turn controller off, editing an ini file to get something to work no change from Bethesda.

Well, it is being touted as a Console Update so maybe this is to punish PC users who refuse to use it like a Console. Semi pissed now. Started a new game last night. Got to a point where I decided to make a new save. My old saves were still there. Great I thought I have the option to jump back to where I got to once I've got used to the system again. Went to do another save to see the new option, auto saves and .. that's all. The old saves from my first run through were now gone. Typical Bethesda programming quality ....

The same thing happened to me a while back. The files are still around on your hard drive somewhere. I can't remember where, sorry.I don't remember the address but there is a website that has one page per game and lists the location of the save files for each launcher (Steam, Epic, GoG etc), screenshot location, how to disable startup videos, known issues, essential tweaks, etc.
I'm not in front of my computer right now but googling for "fallout4 save file location" ought to do it.

If I was MicroShaft I would be kicking arse at Bethesda .... I was hoping after the sale things would start to improve appears to be the opposite. How much did they pay ?
Don't forget that Microsoft owns XBox and that they probably make more money from XBox gaming than they do from PC gaming. FourWheelDrift said:

Cheers - even have the date stamps from my previous PC. Any idea how i can access them? - I take it the issue is both the old and new game saves start with Save1_... Save2_..., except from last night with just3-4 hours play I seem to have gained 64 saves !!! (only 4 visible to load).edit - yay see my games again, I assume most recent file date at the top.

They might start Save1 but they should all have unique codes after so an old Save1 isn't overwritten by a new Save1.The code relates to the character created and stays with all saves for that character.

The company has lost its way ..... This is from someone who really enjoyed Starfield !
p.s. Starfield ? I wonder what exactly is happening with that ...
So, I thought I'd have bit of a look at current Fallout 4 mods since it's been about 5 years since I played.
I always like the forest mods as it's removes the awful short draw distance, nice volumetric fog effects added by NAC X Weather too.
I was looking for 4k textures to install in case Fallout London uses them.
PS, yes that's just 70fps, at 4k with a 4090. Really shows the lack of any sort of upscaler or just the creaky old engine.
