Played to death since release , but decided to start another play through as a friend is playing for the first time.

I always end up wearing power armour and being OP, decided to try a different approach, sneaky with multipliers. The stealth archer of Skyrim if you will.

Suggested perks for this? I am thinking I want vats accuracy, the blitz one that lets you cover more ground in vats, sneak and ninja.

Is melee worth doing at all? Or are weapons always going to deliver the best damage?

Nice will do - looking forward to trying something different.

Anyone else struggle with not hoarding / producing industrial levels of purified water for profit you don’t need !?

Every settlement I had on my last play through had every inch of water covered by industrial purifiers - I don’t know why I just love making money despite having nothing to spend it on!

I can recomend the Deliverer pistol which becomes insane with VATS, you can get 18+ shots in one VAT session, shot through objects with VATS and get massive stacking bonus's for stealth, gun foo etc. You can select the head of a mob behind the wall with 0% hit chance and after the 5th shot will be 100% to hit, probably have crit available and a massive stealth bonus.

By far and away the best pistol on offer in Fallout 4, the Deliverer, allows players to deal high damage and do so quietly with no trade-off. It has a very high fire rate with good damage. This damage can be increased by 12 using a powerful receiver with the only downside being a higher weight. Its built-in suppressor will be a major selling point for many players as well.

Furthermore, the V.A.T.S. Enhanced effect gives the weapon better odds when using V.A.T.S. and a 25% reduction in action point cost. Thankfully, it is also easy to acquire. Players can simply complete the main quest, Tradecraft, to get this as a reward.

All over it one of my favourite weapons!

I think I’ve played probably 20+ days since release on and off!

After reading the previous posts about the Deliverer I went and got it (I always have in the past but like so much else it’s for collecting purposes and bunged on display as soon as possible). Looking forward to trying it out.

Interestingly there are bugs and glitches that I never saw on the PS4 version - most specifically the Charlestown Condo CC which simply doesn’t work.

Still it’s a good world to explore.

This game I will be avoiding Power Armour (although I’ve just got a couple of decent sets from the Captain Cosmos quest line) and using the Deliverer.

Well on my replay I think I’ve exhausted all the missions (apart from the BoS line, as they’re dicks). Got to level 75 and maxed out all the perks I’m interested in (I don’t use VATS). I made a couple of saves and tried different paths - on one I just tanked my way through the Institute at the first opportunity, which was quite fun.

Overall enjoyed it second time around but it got a bit samey towards the end. Not bad for a 10 year old game though.

Ad victoriam!

who else could you possibly side with, the world ending terminator building lunatics in the institute? the minute men who are so pathetic they were almost wiped out by raiders? or the hippy "terminator lives matter" railroad. Death to them all... (after you get the railroad gun of course)

I entered the institute last night and wiped everyone out, the 100s of synths in the final passage actually damaged my X-02 MKVI power armour...

I got to see liberty prime in bits for the first time (never completed the game on my last play through)

If you do the BoS questline you actually get to see Liberty Prime repaired and back in action which is quite cool. But even more amusing is the questline where you get to sneak into the BoS camp, reprogram Liberty Prime's IFF so that it considers all BoS as Communists, and then sit back and watch it wipe them outbiggrin

I’ve only done the end game once as I get so hung up on side quests and settlements, but a good tip is to choose who you want to side with, save the game, and go ham battling for the opposition.

All offence, no looting, just mayhem. Then reload and do it properly.

Was Liberty Prime the big robot from the end of FO3?

I've only ever dabbled in FO4, not worried about the story so much!

Yes

The BoS recover it and work on repairing it in Fo4

Liberty Prime survived the events of the main storyline of FO3, it was destroyed in the DLC Broken Steel.

I've played all the endings of except for the Institute. Father is a weapons grade C U Next Tuesday... There isn't really a lawful good ending as all sides have a drawback but I guess that was intentional. the Brotherhood ending is the most genocidal though, you wipe out all three other factions and even may end up killing paladin Danse because he's a synth. Elder Mason is a bell end too.

That's kind of splitting hairs as Broken Steel pretty much should have been in the base game anyway, and I think there are very few people who played Fo3 who didn't purchase Broken Steel, either as a DLC or as part of a GotY edition. Plus I was talking about Fo3 as a whole rather than the base game specifically. Plus, in Fo4, it's canon anyway.

There was only one ending in FO3 so it all was canon.

Pick your own ending really started with FO:NV.

The worst part was how you died and came back to life in the DLC but meh, there have been worse deus ex machina in game story writing.

Ain't that the truth. I feel sorry for anyone who got a BoS tattoo because of Fo3 and then several years later found out in Fo4 that they were.. as you say.
