Had the chim for 22 years living outside as daily.

Chassis regulary cleaned and por15.

No issues with any corrosion, nor any serious water ingress.

Wet cars are better outdoors in fresh air than stagnate in a garage.

Battery conditioner is key as mentioned.

The 996 has now gone and replaced with an S3 which lives outside, currently under a cover but it is used regularly so gets the chance to dry out. I've just had a major piece of surgery on my right leg, so as soon as this is healed and I can move around, the garage will be cleared and the S will fit in there (the reason I got an S, a Griff would fit but I couldn't then get out of the thing). During the summer I may leave it outside as it will be used a lot, then move it back into the garage as the weather closes in. I think sometimes we all worry too much about these things.

Very true.
You are better off leaving it outside if your regularly using it as wind and sun helps dry it out.
It’s infinitely better to keep it out of the rain if you can or expect poor weather but putting a wet car or namely chassis into a still garage is going to leave standing water far longer than using it regularly. I often notice on Chim chassis rot forms along the tube directly above the floor plates suggesting damp congregates and pools there.

With a Sagaris build project currently on the go - my chimaera has been forced outside.

I purchased this leven style cover from Amore Autos and works perfectly. Secures nicely and great at keeping things nice and dry. As long as far side inner wing is sufficiently water tight with silicone for pipes and res - its never been dryer.

Highly recommend!
