Reading the 'rumourmonger' subforum on Britmodeller, it sounds like Airfix might bring out an additional decal sheet containing all the alternative names & numbers. If Airfix don't then someone likely will, as there seems to be quite a demand...
ooh now that would be good.
Waits with baited breath.

£9:99 seems a bit much, but hey ho. I guess it will need quite a few hours work to produce and could potentially not sell that many. I hope this is the start of Airfix adding detail and upgrade sets. It is excellent that they listened.

That price is not too bad for a dedicated decal sheet.

Airfix produced a parts upgrade set for their Vickers Valiant to allow it to be changed to a photo recce variant.

How do the RNLI choose the names?

According to the decal sheet one of the relief fleet is called “Reg” laugh

If you donate a sufficient sizable sum of money to them you can choose a name, or at least that's how it used to work.

A fair idea, but would need caveats - I don't suppose they'd call one 'Adolf Hitler' even for £10M...
