So, the 13th or 28th Gents ?
Are they open on a Sunday?Having now checked, I see they strangely dont open on Sundays.....
Lesson learnt there. I lways check if a ground has major event on, and have always assumed they would open both days of the weekend.
That pretty much says we go next Saturday, based on majority votes ?

To avoid cluttering this thread up, I have started a new one, specifically for monthly shoots.....

An excellent idea I think. But also excellent is that there were only 7 cases out of over 5000 that were flagged showing we have a great system in place already.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm5rljxy3p5o?a...

You want to know about someone, ask the person who probably knows them best.
Seems sensible

Will be interesting discussion if both are FAC/SGC holders......(or will they not bother in that case I wonder?)
I wouldn’t have thought it would make any difference they’d still ask.I’m aware for a number of years up here in Scotland they have sometimes met with parters etc separately from cert holders when doing home visits & asked questions - despite this being a new thing further south . (An obvious one but unless your partner has shared access to you cabinet they should not know where the keys are kept ….)
I’ve had some pals get bent out of shape initially when they & partners were asked personal questions such as “how is your relationship etc as it was “none of their business” & “what’s that got to do with anything” etc etc but I think generally now folk understand & accept the questioning.

Does anyone know if a shotgun in slip fits in the back of the new Defender 90 hard top? (i.e. no back seats).
I think I am going to finally move on from a 110 Utility (old shape) for a dog / shooting vehicle.
Crossways yes. Someone on our shoot has one and I have had the displeasure of being crammed in there.I think I am going to finally move on from a 110 Utility (old shape) for a dog / shooting vehicle.
A reverse tardis, the new Defender.
Some else bought a 110 and within a few months swapped it for a 130 because she found it too small

It sadly is too small, but the 110 hard top seems a better option. It has additional under floor storage, which would be very handy.
ABT. Automatic Ball Trap!
Hmmmmmmm? Now there is a different discipline altogether..
I racked up at my shoot today feeling lazy, and a bit pressed for time. I asked if DTL was an option today?
I normally love DTL but, it can be over so quick, and I don’t do it properly as I shoot on my own. But the voice activation helps in this situation. It was playing up to start off with. So I asked one of the organisers for assistance.
He said it’s not actually DTL, it’s set up for ABT, I thought hey ho - whatever. I’d never shot ABT ever before.
Then I remembered an old shooting buddy (who was mustard) saying ABT is another level of difficulty.
He was right, that really does sort the men from the boys.
I hardly hit anything.
Driving back home in the car I was thinking of the advert for Gunmart: ‘Gun for sale, and loads of accessories. I’m done!’
Only kidding..

Anyone had any dodgy primers recently? I can’t recall the last time outside of recently I had a shell fail to fire, but I’ve had two Gamebore White Gold shells fail to fire after being struck recently. Both from the same slab.
I think these are the only shells I’ve ever had misfire.
I had 3 out of a slab of 24g CompX recently I think these are the only shells I’ve ever had misfire.
I’ve had 1 Fiocchi black fail to fire in the last few thousand. I also had one where the face of the primer was too thick and wouldn’t allow the gun to close.
Initially I thought oh f, the guns broke, emptied the shells in my pocket, checked the gun reached in my pocket and all was well. About 10 rounds later same again.
My shooting partner said give em here and sure enough the face of the primer was thicker than the rest by about 2mm.
