Crisps: who makes the best?

Crunchy vinegar. Would turn an ocean acidic

Yeah the Aldi ones are good too.

For fans of a corn based S&V snack, currently Lidl's S&V Crispy Sticks are da bomb.

Ah, I’ve been enjoying Taylor’s crisps and wondered if they were related. I thought they might have been connected to Tyrells too tbh.

I usually grab the pickled onion ones but the boxing day curry christmas special ones are the best crisps I’ve ever had.

I've learnt that my taste in crisps does not match the wider market. It is inevitable that when I find the best crisp ever, it'll get discontinued.

Came on this thread to declare these as the best crisps ever, cannot stop eating them once opened. Oddly they send my younger kids lips blue, which was a shock first time they tried them.

Yeah, Tayto is a classic case of either nostalgia talking or people believing the hype.

Just like when I discovered spring onion flavoured Golden Wonder the other week (seen for the first time in what must be nigh on 30 years!) - whilst I hoovered up an entire multipack in one sitting, and loved every minute, I'll not claim they're actually a particularly special crisp.

Manomasa have a new limited edition available through Waitrose (and maybe other places) - Chimichurri Steak.


I'm not picking up all the flavours they talk about but there is a superb crunch to them and taste wise it is as if they have mixed burnt ends in with the corn (in fact the ingredients do include dried beef).

I cannot find these anywhere. Not even Amazon

Then I had a look at the date... Cruel if so. Steak with chimichurri sauce is one of my favourite things on the planet.

I worked with an Argentinian chef who had his own recipe, which he never shared. I'd go into his prep fridge late at night and steal some in a little pot.

Sadly no such luck in Dorking.

The varieties I've tried so far - pineapple & habanero, serrano chili & yukatan honey have been delicious. Flavoursome, and less greasy and salty than other tortilla chips.

Tomatilla salsa I also want to get my paws on.

The best Salt and vinegar crisps are the CO-OP seat salt and Chardonnay ones mentioned at some point earlier in the thread. They're really really delicious and very well flavoured.

Lidls do giant cheesy puffs and they're very moreish! Very big though!
