Lewis Colins was always touted for it-
He’d have been a decent bond I reckon
He auditioned but was apparently turned down for being too cold and aggressive which is exactly why I think he would have made an awesome Bond.

I’d vote for Lewis Collins as well.
Post Bodie in the Who Dares wins era, early 80’s. Great,
Under rated actor. RIP.

You need a bit of class to be Bond.

Hardy, Theo etc, no way.

Hiddleston acted the part in The Night Manager.

Does it have to be a man? If we’re going for full grant paying film ruining equality then it’s
Rosie Jones - obviously.

You’re all way off the mark, this is 2024 so for the new Bond he they have to be representative on a tiny minority of people or it’s racist or homophobic or some kind of phobic so I’m proposing an actor like Ncuti Gatwa. I’m also proposing a remake of Shaft with Robert Webb or maybe Simon Pegg in the titular role
Unfortunately I think you are right. The last bond film was to woke for me.

Why...he's not described like that in the books. I seem to recall him being described as an amphetamine addicted thug.

'Book' Bond is quite a blunt instrument, for me Connery and Craig have been the best. Idris Elba could have played him several years ago.

Chewy dude, Serenity, bloke getting married in Love Actually, 12 Yrs a Slave. Always thought he would be brilliant as Bond, without even a hint of it being “picked cos black”.

Not an actor, but Bryan Ferry. Everything a Bond should be.

Chiwetel Ejiofor - 100% would make a fantastic Bond. Looks smart in a suit, proper/sophisticated English accent, not big guy like Idris Elba, and can fight.

Matt Berry.

For the voice, the innuendos and the everything.

If I was Bezos/Musk/Gates, I'd *pay* for this to happen

Now you're just being silly. He'd be a dreadful Bond.

They wanted Cary Grant for the first Bond film, but he was in his late fifties by then and thought himself too old. They also probably couldn’t have afforded him either. Dr No was filmed on a tight budget.

Another vote for Chiwetel. If we extend to non-English actors, I think Eric Bana or Heath Ledger would have been interesting
