In several linked clips above, I’ve been reminded quite how basic Trump’s speech is!

His short ‘speeches’ in the court house are a very clear examples of my point….

With Trump’s claims that the stock market highs are down to him leading in the polls, he repeated himself almost word for word. If he loses, ‘there will be a crash like you’ve never seen’ and again, repeats himself. On occasion, he can repeat the same point a total of 3 or 4 times in varying forms.

Can he just not help himself?

Is it a simple case of trying to repeat a lie often enough that it gets believed?

Is he really, truly suffering mentally?

Or is he genuinely as thick as mince?

It is really starting to annoy the hell out of me and nobody seems to comment? Or at least everyone has thicker skin and just ignores him…..
There was a video from 2016 or prior that analysed Trump's speech patterns, and actually how effective it was. His sentences are simple constructed, repeating certain words to reinforce them, persuading people even he's not telling the truth, or even anything vaguely realistic or reasonable.

I don't think it was this video, as the one I saw definitely had words on the screen that were highlighted when discussed, but this probably is along similar lines.

What is also apparent is that his articulation was much better prior to his presidency than in recent years, he's gone downhill a lot - back in his prime business days he was actually a very good speaker, content aside.

edit - it could well have been this one:

There were reports recently suggesting trumps dementia was getting worse that it was limiting his vocabulary, one of the symptoms

France's government is disputing a portion of Kristi Noem's book that describes a canceled meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

A representative from the Élysée Palace disputed Noem's account, saying there’s no record of a scheduled meeting, nor was there an invitation extended to her.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/fre...

Absolutely destroyed her chances hetself
Yup and after that train wreck interview on Fox, she is dead in the water - thank god!

But this is just the standard playbook for these lunatics. Just exaggerate and lie and if anyone challenges it, just claim its 'fake news'. They have to keep making up bigger and bigger fantasies to keep the money rolling. It gets more and more ridiculous and in the case of Noem, it resulted in claiming she shot her dog! For some reason she thought that this was a good idea to put into print!

But it sums up the whole situation, Trump included. Keep the lies going and keep the money going - its all protected speech, right?

hehe

Looks like Paul Manafort is out of team trump again after the reporting of his foreign contacts and money ahead of the Milwaukee RNC convention.

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/11/us/politics/tru...

Such a puff piece by Habberman, claiming Manafort worked for free before,
"Manafort was one of only a few Trump advisers who were sentenced to prison, for crimes unrelated to the campaign.", instead of only 7 senior aides were convicted for crimes in aftermath of trump's 2016 campaign, as compared to the dozens of key Republicans indicted for his 2020 campaign, so far.

How Manafort was the go between for the russians and trump. How Manafort had planned to carve up Ukraine, got trump to change speeches to ones that praised Putin and Russia, how they planned to give Crimea to Russia and drop the sanctions. How Manafort gave election data to the russians they used for targetted social media attacks to help trump.
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/12/10/politics/donald...

Might also mention the pardons trump gave out to those convicted from 2016 campaign, the pardons he's dangling for those facing charges or convicted from his 2020 campaign.

How trump put Barr in place, who killed the russian investigation, interfered in DOJ prosecutions, ran obstruction for trump.

Politico reporting on the 84 people fake electors trying to gift the election to trump in 2020. Whether prosecutors treat them as criminals or dupes depends almost entirely on where they live and how Kenneth Chesebro at the centre of the scheme, has only received what some experts call a slap on the wrist after he reached a plea deal in Georgia,

Not quite sure what he meant to say here, but it was wrong, surely. Raise money for groups that aren't on their side?
trump: Do whatever you can for the Republican party because what they do is they raise so much money through different groups that are not groups that are on our side.

Lisa Rubin has written a piece on the $2m settlement, paid over two years that Weisselberg is getting

Under the payment scheme, Weisselberg was not owed even the first payment until March 31, 2023, when he was well into his jail sentence and nearly two months after public reports the Manhattan DA’s office was still investigating him for insurance fraud.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblo...

With Weisellberg not testifying as a defence witness, because of his previous perjury, the prosecution want to admit Weisselberg's 2023 severance agreement as a way of showing why he's not coming to trial: The company's paying him $2 million to not talk to or otherwise help those who might have claims or lawsuits against Trump. They can't subpoena him as the severance agreement basically prevents him from talking to them, even through his lawyer. He could just plead the 5th.

Some suspect DA will drop trying to get anything from Weisselberg.

With Trump referring to Jimmy Carter as Jimmy Connors and Biden referring to Kim Jong Un as the president of South Korea both in the last 24 hours, is anyone slightly concerned that both candidates are clearly losing their marbles? We used to laugh at the Soviets and Chinese for this sort of thing.a

Both are way too old, but only one of them is a significant danger to his own country and the world.

Trump also mixed up Bejing and Taiwan, suggesting that there were ships circling the landlocked capital. He also claimed OJ, his golfing friend who used to play football was in the crowd.

Clarence Thomas broke his silence on the claims he's accepted many gifts, all lies apparently. so thats ok then. https://www.rawstory.com/clarence-thomas-gifts/ having overturned roe vs wade he suggests they now need to look at contraception and same sex marriage.

right wing PACs are playing dirty tricks, they're funding a democrat nominee in Maryland to stop a police officer who was at the capitol on Jan 6 from winning the nomination https://www.salon.com/2024/05/11/critics-accuse-pr...

Thomas was complaining of the abuse and lies being told over his ethics abuses and his wife's involvement in trumps election fraud. Seems to think he's also above the law.

Who hasn't accepted a trip to Indonesia paid for by Crow that alone was likely worth $500,000, just one of the 38/lavish trips discovered. Who hasn't had his mother's house bought by crow, didn't disclose It not that she lives there rent free, or the expensive RV....

It should be pointed out the ex officer standing is Harry Dunn, former capitol police officer who won both the Congressional Gold Medal and Presidential Citizens Medal for his part in defending the Capitol against trumps violent mob.

Hahaha they should defo start making contraception and same sex marriage illegal. It will speed up the inevitable disintegration of the GoP and bring the USA glibal ridicule and a step closer to the Iranian religious nutters model that they seem so desparate to imitate.

One is a lot less st. In fact one is t st at all, he’s just a bit too old. The other one is the very definition of everything that’s wrong with the human race. Oh and he’s too old as well.

Yet again no one reads what is written. The poster never said they were. Far too many on here view criticism of Biden as saying he is the same as Trump. In reality Biden would likely not be supported in nearly the same way any other time - the big reason for a lot of his support is the obvious ‘anyone but Trump’. Which is a great reason, but there must be many far better candidates that should have been picked.

Groundhog day, we were all saying this 4 years ago, many of us picked alternative candidates we like to see run.
However, Biden was chosen as a safe pair of hands, to restore the US after trumps disastrous 4 years, backed by a corrupt GOP who wanted power at any cost.

As such, Bidens team have done exactly that for the US. Infrastructure projects done, that trump didn't do over 4 years. Reversed the job losses of trump, stabilised the markets, grown the economy. Crime is down, trumps violent mob have been prosecuted, where trump says he'll pardon them.

It's why the GOP under trumps orders are trying to manufacture a crisis at the border, because Bidens been successful elsewhere they can't attack him on much.
