He is more popular among 2019 Tory voters than Sunak

And we are not talking about being the "saviour" of anything. A good result for Reform would be 15%+ of the actual vote and Farage would likely give them that.
UKIP managed 15% at the very height of their popularity pre Brexit, based on current projections Reform Ltd might hit 15% but that’s the ceiling. All that said, given the current state of our politics all bets are off.

I do wonder what people are hoping for with a vote for Reform. An even more silly version of the modern Tories?

Well yes that was in different times, and one where the Conservatives were competitive, and so there was the "wasted vote" argument, and had not alienated a large part of their base.

TBH I wouldn't be so sure. After a few years of a Labour government, many of the criticisms facing the current government will be levelled at the Labour government. And as we get into 2027 it is possible that much of Labour's current lead in the polls will have gone (which is just part of the challenge of being the incumbent).

So, if you then combine Farage's campaigning style, with the money of the Conservative Party machine, and the influence of the newspapers, who knows what might happen.

But I should add, I'm not predicting that will happen, there are far too many unknowns, but I just think it might be part of Farage's reasoning, if he chooses not to stand in the coming election.
Farage is about as divisive as you get. If you plan to win back voters put off by the culture wars and pandering to the right, you've learnt nothing.

But that's a good thing to be fair. Let the Tory party become the 15% loon fringe party rofl

I think part of Farage's reasoning if he chooses not to stand in the coming election is that losing 8 on the bounce sounds even worse than losing 7 on the bounce.

Easier to disrupt from the sidelines and probably slightly less embarrassing than getting your arse kicked by a bloke in a dolphin suit.

Farage had seven goes at Parliament during the height of his single issue relevance, losing every time, once to a dolphin. All this is is the right wing headbangers contorting their arguments in an effort to salve their own bent out of shape hopes & desires. His whole raison d'étre set sail in 2016 & it's not coming back, leaving him thrashing about with bank accounts, Palestine, knees & any trivial wedge bks he can seize on.

On top of all of that, he's way too lazy to put the effort into a frontline job. He barely bothered turning up last time he had an actual MP job, unless it was to stick his nose in the trough or get out of the way of his colleagues literally knocking lumps out each other in public, no way he's doing a shift in the real world.

Very true. It is still amazing that he is one of the most influential politicians of this era and has never been elected to our parliament or held any office. One part of me thinks I would like to see him elected and lead to show us how Brexit should have worked as apparently everyone else did it wrong.

Why would you want that? Pretty obvious that Farage would achieve nothing but it would be everyone else fault

I'll be betting he's after a seat in the Lords.

Lifetime peerage, no work and can still snipe and grift.

Wouldn't surprise me is Rishi offers him just that as the price for not standing in key seats to avoid a Tory wipeout.

The lords.wluld suit him.

The last Farage will want is a position of responsibility. He is just an attention seeker.

So is Katie Price but she shouldn’t be in a position of any responsibility.

All Tory supporters I urge you to hold firm take a deep breath.
Backbone in the face of adversity is whats needed now. The election is still wide open and it's quite probable that Rishi may pull off the most incredible result ever.
On the other hand he may not so stock up on tins and buy gold just in case

How on earth can there possibly be any tory supporters left??

Constant betrayal, disrespect and abuse at every turn. An utter disregard for their citizens and the country.

How could anyone want more of that?!?

They could have an abuse fetish I suppose...
