One small crumb of comfort - the position of the low brings winds from the south...

How many fine days and a thunderstorm is that saying again?

Glorious here in South Glos, but phone has just pinged with a Met Office warning for thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon

Excellent. The garden needs watering. It's astonishing how quickly it seems to have dried out.

Wrong thread? Well it’s a weather event, and I’m bored of hearing about endless rain and colder temps coming next week. This could be exciting…

Tonight is forecast to be a great night for Aurora watching!!!

Aurora already pinging in excess of 500. Shame it’s still light! Could be a good show smile

Wowsers, thanks Puggit. I find the Aurora a hugely interesting phenomenon. Optimistic for later, local community will all be out on mass I think!

Yes!!!!!

Well done. We’re not dark yet up here, but I can already see a very very slight green haze on the horizon. Heading out shortly.

Never going to see it here. So much light pollution. Pisses me off.

We've got a green tinge on a very long exposure but nothing visible to the naked eye.

Bit of wobbly light pollution too, FWIW I took one facing due south and it's completely black!

Visible here in Maidenhead when taking 4-5sec exposure photos. First time I’ve ever seen it, and looks amazing.
