Here's what the evidence says;

I would say that money doesn't buy you happiness if the source of your unhappiness is not lack of money. I would also separate out the effect of having money from the effect of what you have to do to get money.
I'm happy to be a guinea pig and put this theory to the test if anyone has a couple of mil going spare? https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnjennings/2024/02/...

Money can 100% make you happy.
Only if you are shallow. And to anyone who thinks the Beatles were an 'average' band. Your ignorance is off the charts.
Of course there are lots of other things in life which affect happiness but having money means being able to cope better with those problems.
These bands would've been new, new music, new genres, new equipment and instruments (the first electronic pick ups and amplification) they would've been unique, the very first, and so definitely not average. Mind-blowing by the standards of the day. Maybe not so by today's standards.

I think the music of the 60s and 70s seems even better when compared with today. The idea of hearing a new song now such as 'Here, There and Everywhere' or 'Surf's Up' is pretty much unthinkable. My parents were born in the early 1940s, my dad was a gigging musician in a band as a young man in the 1960s, when all-time classic songs were appearing literally on a monthly basis. Just an extraordinary time to have been doing that for a living, I am very envious!

None of that intrinsically equates with happiness. My brother has more money than he knows what to do with, is a serially miserable fker. By contrast, my uncle Les spent his career working for the gas board, loved his family, a pint & the football and is the most contented man I ever met.
My granddad always used to tell me that being happy isn't about having what you want, it's about wanting what you have. A big wad of cash definitely helps though. Vsix and Vtec said:

These pithy homespun homilies don't take much investigation do they.
Taken literally that would mean you and your large hypothetical family
should desire and be happy living in a 2 room damp, cold hovel, and wanting something
better is somehow sinful and wrong ?

In my opinion, Amy Winehouse was never any good.
The sad thing is, I can't imagine how she would have been as she matured. Beatles, on the other hand, are massively overrated, simplistic tunes, and weak lyrically for the most part. Anyone mentioning the Stones and the Beatles in the same sentence knows nothing about music IMO. carlo996 said:

What do people need to "know" about music exactly? And I ask that as someone that much prefers The Stones to The Beatles.Randy Winkman said:
Are some people confusing "not very good" with "doesn't appeal to me"?
No, I don’t think so. Of the 240 odd songs they laid down, I’d suggest some thirty have some artistic merit, a hundred are utter stinkers and the rest B-side filler quality. Just not a very good strike rate.

Arguing with someone not equipped with the ears to understand the Beatles is, by definition, pointless. It's like trying to debate with someone who thinks Stirling Moss was crap at driving a car. It's hard to find professional musicians who don't appreciate the Beatles.

I'll bow to cruise ship classics....have a word with yourself. Luckily was raised on multiple genres due to my father being a Jazz saxophonist, he also thinks the Beatles are quite ordinary. But then what he used to play, isn't my cup of tea either, despite being way more complex than the formula Beatles productions. I do have every album on vinyl locked away, as well as the Rolling Stones and a few others. Safe to say, they will remain mint Lemmy said it best, back in the day there were a lot of British bands, all good.
I literally never listen to the Beatles. So many other options.
