Doesn't take much to turn it round and give everyone some fun and hope.

You won't enjoy the comparison however klopp may have taken time to win stuff - but more or less straight away the football changed and the fans were able to get behind what was going on.

If ineos have employed the right senior people that will make a massive difference to the culture of the club, which is where it has to start.
If it doesn’t take much why haven’t we done it already?

As nice as it is to talk about these new non-football people they are not the people that fans go to watch or support. Klopp is a football man and directly reposnsible for the people on the pitch.

That's not true. FSG/Edwards/Klopp took Liverpool from Roy Hodgson utter laughing stock to pretty much the best club side in the world for a year or two.

I'd say that your top brass got it wrong and there has been a toxic attitude around the glazers for a long time.

if the new Ineos people know what they are doing then that should permeate down, just has the toxicity has.

I think both UTD and LFC fans will need to adjust expectations regarding what a manager is going forward - now just a part of a collective set up with the strategy being set by the top brass. I think LFC fans are in for a disappointment (I hope I am wrong) and the same applies to City when Pep goes. He elevates the standard over and above practically anyone else would be able to, and I'd say the same about Klopp.

Personally I think you would be a totally different side if Casemiro and one of your centre halves could actually run.
You may not be back at the top but you wouldn't be the shambles you have been on occasion.

I am not sure about the manager TBH but it's a poison chalice until you get the senior strategic team sorted.

They’re still non-football people and the Goazers are still the majority shareholders. INEOS own a minority stake. Nobody really knows how the club is going to be run as a whole.

Yes but how often does that ever happen?

Not often

You'd be having a different type of conversation if you were 3rd or 4th. That's obtainable with a couple of signings and renewed focus.

You've got to believe ineos can bring that about - with or without Ten Hag (I'd say without but not sure who would replace)

Winning stuff regularly is all moot as long as the city bandwagon keeps running anyway

Ashworth, Wilcox and the city bloke have a track record.

Have to be honest I'd be pessimistic in your position as well.
I am not looking forward to the post Klopp reality at all.

Which couple of signing do we need? Just pick the 2 or 3 positions that you think are weak. I’ll probably ask you to defend that the other 8 or 9 positions and all the rest of the second string in the squad are good enough though.

Tuchel is the recent bookies favourite.

He's an elite manager in his prime - we honestly since Ferguson haven't actually tried that. We've had former elite managers who are busted flushes (Jose, LVG) and we've had never been and never will be elite managers (Ole, Moyes) and we've had whatever on earth Ten Hag is.

Advantages Tuchel has;

Has won more than just a farmers league
Has managed at basket case clubs before (Chelsea, Bayern, PSG all have their challenges and politics)
Has Premier League experience
He has managed top top name players
He has a track record that commands respect (recent Champions League win, back to back CL finals, etc)
He is tactically flexible
He can improve an existing team tactically, for example taking Frank Lampard's mess of a Chelsea team to CL glory
He isn't Gareth Southgate

There are some downsides;

He falls out with people - but then so does Ten Hag....
Does he develop youth? I don't know enough to know the answer, but that's a vital part of our club's identity
Chelsea didn't end well, but that seemed more them than him perhaps (if it happens I am sure Chelsea fans will chime in)
Not winning the Bundesliga with Bayern is at a headline level a bit concerning given they've done it 11 times in a row before him and added Kane to the squad

As a relatively safe pair of hands who can do a stabilising job for a couple of years or so he seems a compelling option, and with no compensation owed to his current club given he's agreed to leave at the end of the season I expect he may be where we land.

I'd say
A centre half with pace and a central midfielder with intelligence who can get around the park.

Probably a keeper - his stats look ok but whenever I've seen him he just looks strange to me.

That would shore you up and stop some of the comedy performances
Go from there over the next few windows - buying players to a strategy rather than for whatever reason you've been buying some of the players you have recently.

The you look back in a couple of season's time and it's all changed.

We had Henderson and Wijnaldum in our best side. Neither exactly world beaters and you'd moan if you bought the equivalent of them now, but they were mustard in that set up as they did what they were told.

I appreciate that you may not want to listen to an LFC supporter but I was there for exactly the same downward trajectory you are in. I also appreciate you are probably sick of players like Rashford half-arsing around and I'd want him gone in your shoes as well.

If I am one of the guys it will be same side as I've followed for 50 years.

Will start the season with hope and be grateful for every month i still have it. Always good to have some hope in march rather than it all be in the bin by November.

I've had hope and some expectation for the last few years, don't think I'll have much expectation next August but I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised.

Not sure what INEOS are waiting for ... another four defeats? They'll look as clueless as your other owners if so ...
Waiting for the people who will be tasked with finding Ten Haags replacement to actually start maybe ?

Tuchels just made some criminal changes in this CL semi and now looks to be going out.

Soon as i saw the changes i backed Madrid at 10/1….

Just going to post exactly the same. Woeful commentary too. Surely one of them should know you can’t be offside if you’re behind when it’s played.

Fecked by an injury, tactical mistakes, dodgy keeper and dicked massively by a very whiffy call at the end. ETH Tuchel out.

Michael Oliver on VAR for the Final. If we had even a slight chance, that ends it.
