Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari

Bearman done a good job given the circumstances but being 0.5 seconds off your teammate in qualifying is not fast enough. The circumstances made it difficult but have also given him a bit of slack. Finishing 7th in the 2nd fastest car isn't amazing either. He might well deserve a drive in F1 but not sure this drive proves it either way.
Back on topic, it's starting to look like Hamilton is making the right move next year. Ferrari have made progress while Mercedes seem lost.
In his defence that defecit was due to a lockup in one corner, minus small mistake and it was around 3/10ths which given the small amount of practice he had is bloody good going. He had a step up in his pace during the race also when he got on top of the car more.

You must be kidding, right?! Half a second with only one practice session before is outstanding!Back on topic, it's starting to look like Hamilton is making the right move next year. Ferrari have made progress while Mercedes seem lost.

Why is it that a kid has one good race and people immediately leap to suggest that he’s more use than a 7 time world champion?
These pages were the same when Russell stood in for Hamilton in 2020 - suggestions that Mercedes should just drop Hamilton and put Russell in
Bearman did well, considering the circumstances. Putting him in for next year is the equivalent of dropping Lionel Messi because the 18 year old academy kid scored one goal in the last game.

John Elkann have regretted his decision …. Hamilton seems like will be defeated 2 out of 3 by Russell and will cost 20 times more than Bearman.

No chance. He’ll probably sell $100m in #44 shirts and hats next year, and get a driver whom he knows will consistently get the very best out of the car, rather than a rookie with one race under his belt. It also means that rivals Mercedes won’t have Lewis driving for them! Not to take away from Bearman, who obviously had a brilliant weekend scoring points on debut having had minimal practice. Lewis in the red car would probably have been chasing down Perez for 2nd place though, ahead of Leclerc.
I suspect Bearman goes to Haas next year, to do a Russell and get some experience in an allied team while waiting for the big vacancy. He’s definitely a future prospect for Ferrari.

Yea... I'm sure he's regretting the flippant decision he made to employ a 7x WDC... Should have saved the money and gone the work experience route with Bearman Sandpit Steve said:

100%, the money that Lewis will generate in revenue over the next few years will be massive plus PR etc.Not to take away from Bearman, who obviously had a brilliant weekend scoring points on debut having had minimal practice. And we can always dream that he will win championship no8 driving for Ferrari.

Indeed.Too many people listen to the absolutely ridiculous hype from sky omg bearman English bearman best thing since sliced bread bearman English give him an f1 seat etc etc.
Its not as if he stepped into an f1 car for the first time he has practiced before and would have barely been in the top 10 in the 2nd fastest car if it wasn't for the safety car.
To think he deserves a seat in the Ferrari is laughable and that ferrari regret Hamilton even more.
The only reason why this is probably getting traction is because of Toto saying he may put the rookie in the merc, difference there is that the merc is ste, he wouldn't be doing that if they were winning.
