I recall reading years ago that part of what attracted Newey to RB was the offer to work on his historic race cars. Newey evidently enjoys his historic racing, and where better to be than Ferrari to get full factory support for the old cars?
I'd be surprised if one of Newey's key factors in upping himself and his family to another country, culture and team in the twilight of his years is whether or not they have some decent mechanics to look after his toys.Any F1 team can do that. They all have a few who are handy with the spanners

Does he take a gig at another team? That's going to depend on proving his ideas for the new car would be both competitive and compliant and also proving he wasn't complicit in the behaviour within RB.
But in the balance of probability, this is the window to bail at the top, especially if there is more to come out as to the goings on, or if one's ideas for the next car aren't looming slam dunk and it is certainly a prime time to negotiate one's golden handshake if not compromised.
If there hss been no improper "behaviour within RB" following a barrister internal review, why might Newey ever need to demonstrate "he wasn't complicit", and if so with what? But in the balance of probability, this is the window to bail at the top, especially if there is more to come out as to the goings on, or if one's ideas for the next car aren't looming slam dunk and it is certainly a prime time to negotiate one's golden handshake if not compromised.
Are you speculating without any proof that there has been behaviour for which AN might be "compromised"?
Do you accept that smoke emanating from RB offices all season, and key employee now reportedly packing his personal effects at the office into a box hints at possibility of fire?
I have no definitive views or answers, just asking a few leading questions.

A man of integrity who doesn't need to put up with a toxic workplace, has voted with his feet. Reportedly no stomach for Horner's comings and goings.
Make your own minds up....no doubt Horner's apologists will say this exit has nothing to do with short hand skills or "noshing" by a certain money grabbing female member of staff (all allegedly).
You just made that narrative up entirely in your head.Make your own minds up....no doubt Horner's apologists will say this exit has nothing to do with short hand skills or "noshing" by a certain money grabbing female member of staff (all allegedly).
If Newey HAS left for these reasons, why now? What’s changed?
Newey hasn’t even commented on why he’s leaving, yet. Still, it’s “in the wake of the Horner allegations” so that’s obviously the reason why, just like when they ran out of toilet roll in the gents toilets at RB HQ that too happened “in the wake of the allegations”.
Also just lol that anyone who wants to actually hear the reasons he’s leaving rather than idle speculation are automatically “Horner apologists”. How’s life in binary land?
It certainly seems that it is a factor, as multiple places (including that linked Peter Windsor video above - interesting).
In terms of being "a man of integrity" it would seem that if he is leaving because of Horner then it's more to do with feeling he has been duplicitous towards him. It doesn't seem like he's leaving as some kind of stand because of what has happened to/with the PA, as such. if he had a problem with the result of the internal inquiry, the result, or how the PA has been treated - why has he only left now?
Either way - there certainly seems to be a number of places reporting that the reason for leaving is linked to Horner.
Maybe we'll find out for sure at some point, or maybe not.
Anyway, have a good day
EDIT: An interesting story here which is more circumspect about the whole affair - https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/red-bulls-f1-riv...

No offence but I've re-read what you wrote and it seems pretty clear that you've decided that Newey leaving is entirely due to Horner?

Windsor’s video certainly suggests that Newey thinks Horny crossed a line in terms of his conduct, to the point where the team boss is no longer trusted by the veteran designer. It certainly seems that it is a factor, as multiple places (including that linked Peter Windsor video above - interesting).

I’m sure there still will be some regular visit to the production facility, but it’s not going to warrant moving his family.

I'd be surprised if one of Newey's key factors in upping himself and his family to another country, culture and team in the twilight of his years is whether or not they have some decent mechanics to look after his toys.Personally, having heard what a few people have said about his contract are true, I think he's out. 2027 until he could start working again, multi millionaire, nearing 70, why would you bother with all the politics and bks?
All things considered, this is a lesson in demonstrating how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and to be careful when one throws stones in glass houses. You’ll likely get hurt or break something.
RB at the end of last season were on top of the world. They had the best driver, the best designer, the best car, the best team, sponsors coming out of their ears. They exuded success. But some within the team were not happy - they wanted power, more of it, so they set about kicking themselves in the foot. Popcorn was being consumed by the bucket load opcorn:
How has that worked out for them and all those calling for CH to be sacked - fight, fight!
AN is now off, Max will be off, success will turn to toiling and the once great team will become a shadow of its former self. Was it really worth it for the lurid stories about a middle aged man giving himself a happy ending? I think not.

I was hoping someone would point out the obvious. John did it back in the day and things are even easier now with modern teams type technology.

He is on record saying that wouldn't work quite recently. I’m sure there still will be some regular visit to the production facility, but it’s not going to warrant moving his family.
If I'd just bought that yacht i dont think i would be looking for moorings in the UK

Does Horner really need this aggravation?
He's built a monumentally successful team and achieved every goal he could possible have set for it.
He could just step back and enjoy life.
Not at 50. If you're the motivated type then 30 years of Viking Cruises with dullards isn't hugely inspiring. You'd need a worthy challenge to be going on to before volunteering to jump. Newey at 65 could happily do a wind down stint around the Italian lakes and use it as a base for a few years of playing on the European mainland circuits. 65, however driven, is a different place to 50. He's built a monumentally successful team and achieved every goal he could possible have set for it.
He could just step back and enjoy life.

Maybe. He’s always said he’ll retire and become a grumpy farmer, and he’s building a horse racing team with Geri that is beginning to have some success. He's built a monumentally successful team and achieved every goal he could possible have set for it.

Perhaps a Netfix show to rival Amazon Prime's Clarkson's Farm series. Or Gerri and Horner could launch their version of the lovely Toyah and self-deprecating Robert (watch that tutu) FrippEdited by 595Heaven on Friday 26th April 12:34

Indeed, bent as a two bob note.
With all sorts of carbon bits known to be seen in a shunt despite not being allowed. Re Horner. IMO a lesson in greed and ego. He’s only there for himself and I think gunning for the top job at red bull. Everyone else is just a means to an end.
