it'll be a challenge directing an Italian design team on a part time basis.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.
When I work in Italy with Italian crew, we hire an Italian production company to coordinate their efforts with our own production, because direct control is next to impossible. Take from that what you will!
As for RBR staff leaving in general, quite possibly for Ferrari.. Zak Brown said McLaren had seen a number of RBR guys looking for new work, it stands to reason the other top teams have seen the same interest.
Assuming Newey is Ferrari bound, then it's essentially upto the Italians how much they take advantage of him and Lewis and whatever RBR guys they can poach. They obviously want to win but that will require the natives working with the British immigrants

From my experience of being directed by Gordon Murray, Pat Symonds, Mike Gasgoine, Malcolm Oastler, Geoff Willis, Shuhei Nakamoto, Aldo Costa, Rory Byrne, Pat Fry, James Allison, Matt Harman it is an infinitely difficult task to get rightThere has to be one person with a solid vision that can direct the efforts of everyone else.
Many sacked, fell on their sword or just got lost
Only 4 names I'd feel confident they'd understand/know the best direction to point everyone in

Newey was definitely in Italy a few weeks ago, testing one of his cars at Mugello, where he was spotted in his Red Bull racing overalls.I don't know what this means for the Ferrari story. 2+2= whatever you want it to be.

Of course there's no hard evidence, you'll never get that. But it's ok to make the odd assumption. I think he's done the deal and will soon be announced at Ferrari.
What do you think, if you were asked to speculate, as I am doing?

I don't think he needs to take people over from one team to another to be effective at his role, but I do tend to agree that history tells us that the British influence at Ferrari is either wasted or needs to be totally accepted 100%, as it was during the MS years of dominance - also Ferrari's last period of success.
