With reference to the Mercedes W100 Grosser on the last page, this was at Goodwood on Sunday. Registration plate 5OUP
Owned by a really nice young guy who had a bit of a thing for these, explained that everything is activated by hydraulics, such as windows, locks, seats etc.
Awesome.

I remember seeing some program on these and things like the hydraulic window controls were something insane like £30k to fix.

Correct, I think he said that the hydraulic control units (actuators?) from Mercedes were £10k but there was someone remachining / rebuilding them for £5k. Also every time you detatch a hydraulic hose it has to be replaced as it doesn't reseal again and leaks.

I just posted this on the Goodwood page but thought I'd put it here too... it seemed to divide opinion like nothing else!
Apparently it's a Wekfest Nagoya demo car (look it up on Google...)

It’s quite a significant nod to the GT500 car by the look of it. It’ll upset NSX purists but I like it smile

Thing is, if you want the look of the GT500 car, there's bodykits out there for exactly that!

This thing is straight out of the fevered mind of Leepu if someone described the GT500 to him over the phone!

(Closest I'll get to a NSX is my model one of these biggrin)

If they were the to change the wheels and add a rear spoiler I'd like it a lot more. I think the race cars look great!!
Think this is the same car...
Much better! I really like it looking like that.

Lennon's white lwb 4 door is up for sale at Tom Hartley Jnr. These are expensive cars in the first place - wonder what the famous owner tax will add to it. Comes with a period Phillips record player and Radiomobile 8 track.

Why not?

Lennon gave up his personality when he got involved with Yoko.

But I'd love a 600 Grosser.

Blimey, you're stepping on pins and needles, blaming her for breaking up The Beatles. hehe

Didn't the Ono/Lennons sell this on to Marc Bolan? Thought I heard that somewhere.

Not quite, Lennon sold it to Harrison, who then sold it to Mary Wilson of The Supremes, if cars could talk that could tell some stories. rotate

Bloody hell that's a blast from the past... I remember going in George Harrison's when it was in for a service at his local garage in Henley where a friend of mine worked, it was in the workshop overnight so obviously we borrowed it to go 'clubbing' in. Seeing the picture of the stacked record and 8-track players in the rear, not sure if it was this exact car or one to identical spec but it was definitely the same layout - funny seeing it again some 50+ years later...

Ringo had one first - a full fat 6 door. Apparently Lennon fell for it and went and bought his immediately afterwards

Yeah, I suppose it must have been the ex-Lennon car, as I remember sitting on the rear-facing seats resting my elbow on the partition to the front watching the speedo to see what it would do up 'the fairmile' (with 6 of us onboard), and also recall the sight of the bloody thing when leaving the nightclub - seeing it dwarf everything else around, it was the definition of a 'white whale'!
