Agreed and M3 touring over M3 saloon.
I guess it's personal preference. I'd never buy a 4 door when there is a 2 door version available.
I agree personal preference as the cars are ‘the same’. Incredibly dim thing to say.

It’s a bit too shouty for me TBH. I remember when the M2 CS topped ECOTY a few years back. It looked sensational and yet the cosmetic changes over the standard car were so subtle making it difficult to differentiate for the uninitiated eye. Less is more I guess …

Confused and dazed I may be, but I've been recently really admiring the M4
Yep, me too. I really like the front grill now, so much so I wouldn’t want any other front styling on my 3 or 4. It’s a shame they don’t offer an equivalent on a 2 series

I’m the other way round, I always prefer a four door. I prefer the looks, and of course the practicality’s far better.

Not really. I prefer proper 223 rem in rifle form rather than an SMG made from a tin can.

Aside from the comments about the looks (I liked my M4, Sau Paulo Yellow over Yas Marina Blue interior) for me the elephant in the room is the price per value.

I bought my M4 X Drive in March 2022, a year later - I struggled to get £60K for it. I would have, tried to buy an M3 CS - but in the end I bought a much safer bet financially and went for a - GT4.

If you want an M4 - get a very lightly used year old one, (it’s difficult to use them ‘hard’ on public roads - they do prison speed pace - pretty much everywhere, laughably so tbh) so a lightly used one is what you can get.

It would literally be half the price of this CS.

For me - even for me - who changes every 12 months, it would be hard to justify this kind of loss every year. Sure the dealers will tell you the CS ‘will hold its value better’ - but that’s not true, I was offered a CS M3 ‘just after I got the GT4’ for mid £90’s K.

I mean, if you want an M4 CS - go for it, but it does not make a great value proposition per M4 lightly used… imho…
TBF though the CS is usually much better. Whether it's worth £30k extra is down to the individual.

I owned the previous gen M3cs, one of my favourite ever cars.

That's two words lol but I agree the arches are better on the M3 and Touring

I didn't realise there was such a general hatred for the M4 looks... to me it's fine, apart from the grill obviously (which is easily fixed with aftermarket options anyway)

In fact, I'm probably mental anyway, as I'd go M4 > M3 Touring > M3 wink I'm just not a fan of saloons really, apart from the Giulia Quadrifoglio.

I think they are far better looking in the flesh, I'd take one in black without the red pin strip, a very quick car I think the M3 CS has been tested to 6.5 seconds to 100mph.

This car was ugly, is ugly and probably remains to be ugly until the braindead designers are finally being fired.
And by the way nobody needs or wants a car with climate control functions in a menu. I have the M3 E92 which has a knob to turn. Whats wrong with that? Every idiot can handle that instead of cursing at f**king touchscreens.

I often think this about my standard F82 M4 as well, and obviously that isn't even quick in comparison to this. I feel myself occasionally holding back a bit in it, because you look down and you've passed the legal 70mph with just a twist of your toe for example.

That being said, I still really...really want a G82 M4 xDrive though for sure. driving

You'd probably miss the edge of the rwd m4 though, one of the things I loved about my F80 m3 was that feeling that it could let go IF you over did it, added a bit of zest to a drive (even though you had lots of grip to spare).

When you tipped it into a corner you could really feel the grip build up instantly down the side of the car I really liked that feeling.

Darker colours suit it much better. Helps makes the design look a bit more appealing.

I'm sure it will be a gem when it comes to handling.

Anyone buying this over a 991.2 GT3 needs to have their head examined.

As a weekend car/2nd/3rd car I'd agree and although I did run a 911 as a daily over 50k and 3 years, the M car is a practical daily car with room for 4 and decent boot for shopping, luggage, golf clubs etc...I was always compromised with the 911 but never with any of my M3s.

If you want a single car with practically and lots of sporty performance the M4 makes a good case, but the competition version would be the choice I guess.

Rough translation ( i think...) They prefer a manual transmission that feels like the cocking of an old rifle when changing gear, opposed to that of a modern auto gearbox.
