Considering the way car prices have gone up it's fairly reasonable too.
They likely spent a fair bit remodelling the bmw one it's based on. Not many cars come with a choice of steering wheel though.Considering the way car prices have gone up it's fairly reasonable too.

I guess an airbag is a must for them? no ide, otherwise you could put in a nice classic wheel like say a mono-lita with wood?
or something like this?
or maybe they could have put some thin veneer layer around the airbag on say everything you see that looks aluminium on that wheel?
or wrap it yourself with a wood like wrap
the wheel is ok-ish but its a bit to modern

I’ll take the 3rd brake light though. Modern driving needs it, else some muppet even more likely to rear end you.

Absolutely right. And in a Morgan, it would not be pretty.but then, how often you get a reasonable big accident in your life? let alone in a fun car you don't drive much on busy streets.
I’ve not driven one, but they do appeal to me and the recent sets of changes make it more suitable for what I’d use it for - days out in the countryside and at most an overnight stay.
I suspect that when I’m ready to buy something for that job I’d be more likely to get a Boxster but you never know.

It was also mentioned earlier in the thread about an airbag. I found a few internet pages that said they became mandatory in 1992 but I have a 1999 TVR that never had one. I'm not aware that it is compulsory fitment to a car, unlike ABS, and it's just what manufacturers do. Unless it's a 'low volume' thing.

indeed those are bud ugly, they also used those in automatic early Wiesmann cars (they changed it later to more fake manual look), same sort, a great looking classic and then a into the wrong future auto shifter...I rather like nice buttons in an auto then that, I also do not like shifters in an auto that look like manual shifters, yes nice, but fake... and I bet it would fool me once o twice hah, so yes, give me buttons for R and N and P and D and so on.

My understanding is that the auto shifter is a more tightly controlled part than the steering wheel, so re engineering it is unlikely and highly costly, especially in the states where Morgan are/were planning on selling the CX cars. round thing, but I guess still to modern?
in the old days they had something like those, hah, not bad, but they did not had the paddle shifter and fast clutch etc.
so with some nice round alu buttons, sort like what they already use, it could be possible, no idea if its better or possible for not to Morgan euh Much ;-)

Its the equivalent of a Barbour wax jacket. The reality is something made of Goretex or other technical fabrics is just better. and probably cheaper. But may look less cool. Hey ho. Personally I like engineering integrity, excellence and function. And would rather hear a flat 6 howl
Great way to describe it. You want one because you are willing to put up with their many shortcomings. They cannot, will not ever win a 'group test' because they are demonstrably inferior to most other cars. I love them. Not really a sports car... auto box with no paddles / soft throttle response / massive sidewalls; less than direct handling and turn in / not that quick

They were still the most fun cars I have ever owned, and if I didn't need four seats these days, I may well be in an Aero Supersports or Plus Six/Eight, hiri g a driver to take it to the dealer in Kent whenever it broke.
We all know a Boxster GTS/Spyder would be better in every way. But I'd rather have a Morgan.
