I realise I may have mentioned it before but I am dumbfounded at the deterioration of these wheels on my 73 Plate GTS . The Car has neither been tracked nor abused but most are riddled with shrapnel wounds courtesy of Britains appalling roads and for some reason something I never experienced on the last pair of Vantages a 20 and 21 plate respectively . Ignoring the view they are only original once I have made up my mind to take them to Supreme Wheels in Milton Keynes during the next couple of weeks . My main concern regarding this is if they will simply deteriorate all over again and I shall be back where I started . Any thoughts ?

You did mention it before, and I suspect nothing’s changed :

Either take the matter up with your supplying OPC, or suck it up and get them refurbished and enjoy the car thereafter.

It’s a car, our roads have gravel on them, unfortunately stuff gets chipped as a result of the two meeting at speed.

Mine have got a couple of chips after 10k miles. Not confined to the rears, the fronts are probably picking up their's either from opposite direction traffic or during overtakes.

Only really visible when washing and I'm not deeply troubled by it. However, I also don't have film on my paint and don't mind the bits of gravel rash around the rear wheels etc. It gets used and looked after, but I'll not let that stuff upset me. I'll take the weight saving rather than PPF it.

If it is really troubling you, then rather than just get them repainted, use a Cerakote specialist.

The H-version is available in just about any colour and is remarkably hard wearing, I have no experience of the newer Elite series product. Oven cure at 120c so wheel safe, the Elite cures at 150c. I've had H on firearms which led a very tough life, anything short of being used as a hammer, and it never chipped or marked.

Cerakote wheel UK> £100 for a motorbike wheel, so call for an exact price?

Very interesting information, thanks.
11,500 miles in 3.5 years and 2 chips I think.

I'll hopefully be able to find this post when the time comes to refurb.
