Sterrato Rocks!

Love it. Have you actually driven anywhere a normal version couldn’t?
You could take a (4wd) normal one on winter tyres to most of the same places but you would be going very slowly and only do it once! Some rough roads, and ride height/tall tyres are the biggest help. The underbody protection also helps your mindset, whether or not it's really protecting much! Overall, you can drive it like a normal car without thinking about car constraints.
Rally mode works well too, and you really can have some fun without feeling like you're going to lose it (...so far). Brilliant traction in the snow
I had a RWD Evo and sold it because it's so fast you hardly ever get to use it, and the one time I took it up to the highlands for a weekend, the rough roads to one of the hotels was beyond it. Sterrato is much more useable everywhere.
It's slightly slower but fast enough, and although it's not quite as sharp it still goes where you point it.
Roof box (don't laugh...) is very helpful for carrying luggage, though you do notice a difference in handling with the weight on top.
All in, a very practical car!

The reason I asked the question was that back in the day I used to drive standard awd Gallardos on some pretty rough roads and, contrary to what I expected, they were absolutely fine. I also say lots of other high performance cars been used in ways that I think very few people would believe possible.

It sounds like a fun machine. I totally agree that many cars (and bikes) are now so fast that you have to be VERY careful to avoid trouble.

Yep, I agree, and am not generally shy on using cars in various situations! The reason I asked the question was that back in the day I used to drive standard awd Gallardos on some pretty rough roads and, contrary to what I expected, they were absolutely fine. Sterrato isn't a total game changer, but changes do make it easier, and I would say better, to use on all occasions.
And with all that, you still have the engine, which is the main event.
