... lots of stuff.......... ......and posted 1,000 times in our motoring forums in order to post in NP&E. This will be applied retrospectively to existing members too......... more stuff.
It does read that 'you must have 1000 posts excluding your posts in "The Pie and Piston". '.Be interesting to see if it is.
I read it the same as Jenny, and you must have made 1000 posts, but this number excludes any made within Pie & Piston sub forums.
I guess you could class all the other forums outside of Pie & Piston as 'motoring forums' as Ben puts it.

It isn't particularly clear to be honest.

Oh, I completely agree. I read it the same as Jenny, and you must have made 1000 posts, but this number excludes any made within Pie & Piston sub forums.

I was just postulating on what would be the "least effort" implementation and suggesting that it might be that.

The trouble is that the moderators have a policy of pruning a thread and removing obnoxious posts and the replies to them.
Personally I would rather see dickish posts remain, so people can see what a dick the poster is. Whitewashing their obnoxious posts, and leaving their ok ones, makes them look like less of a dick.
But that's a whole different debate.
Given the above, though, I tend not to report posts on the whole. Although sometimes I do.
Yes I have seen this work well. Sometimes, text of the post is removed but the shell of the post remains. The user is then ignored, if only because people get annoyed with the clutter and want to avoid more clutter. I think I’ve only ever used the Report button twice, I think.
Maybe we should report the trolls a bit more freely? Acknowledging a balance with not overwhelming the mods.
I've used it a few times, I also use it once a year to wish the mods a happy Christmas Maybe we should report the trolls a bit more freely? Acknowledging a balance with not overwhelming the mods.

What's your point? I've not had any bans or warnings.
I'm a non troll member that's been a contributer for 11 months without any issues who has effectively been given a temporary ban from a while subset of the forum.
Your memory clearly isn't perfect. I'm a non troll member that's been a contributer for 11 months without any issues who has effectively been given a temporary ban from a while subset of the forum.

Also, maybe the tread title should be changed to "... posting privileges" instead of "rights"?

I've said earlier at the date of implementation I think it was just post count regardless of where it has been previously made.... in conjunction with time served.
I've posted the same assumption. But maybe this is evidence that we are both incorrect here, and they *are* subtracting NP&E posts?Either way, it could do with clarification.

Is the reason for your restriction to contribute to NP&E that you have <12 months of membership, or that less than 1,000 of your 2,784 posts have been made outside of NP&E?

Without wishing to sound rude, what i post on is none of your business.
