Chimaera's in the USA
Discussion
Sound like everywhere to me.
"A motor vehicle that is at least 25 years old can be lawfully imported into the U.S. without regard to whether it complies with all applicable DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS)."
Big g, post a photo of your old Griff', Ive got some with it sharing the scene with mine. HeHe.

Nice!
A Fiat 500 and a Chimaera, in the US it's like you are only driving toy cars ;-)
Haha, pretty much. I had a Giulia before the Chimaera, but it was "too big," plus the lack of a manual option here in the states meant I didn't really enjoy it nearly as much as the 500 Abarth. So it got shipped out, haha.A Fiat 500 and a Chimaera, in the US it's like you are only driving toy cars ;-)

I got a 1993 430 Chimaera on December. Everyone is right it puts a smile on my face.
I live in SW Florida. It needs a lot of work so who will sell parts to the US?
Powers Performance used to and Maybe TVR PARTS. Pretty much any Landrover parts supplier should be able to get most engine related parts on your side of the water. I live in SW Florida. It needs a lot of work so who will sell parts to the US?

When I needed parts for my imported 1992 Griffith I found Powers and Racetech equally good to ship to the USA. I never heard a peep out of TVR Parts when I enquired.I live in SW Florida. It needs a lot of work so who will sell parts to the US?
And yes, regular engine service stuff can come from Land Rover suppliers like RoverNorth, but sometimes in your local NAPA, Advanced Auto etc.

I got an email today regarding TVR Parts. Make of this what you will. frown :
Update
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, dealing with the impact of Covid-19, and we thank all of our customers for their support. We remain dedicated to providing the best quality and largest range of parts for TVR cars as well as to ongoing product development, but we have unfortunately been unable to agree the terms of a new licence with TVR. This means that going forwards there will be a couple of changes - we will no longer be able to label the parts as "Genuine" and our company name will change to Racing Green Parts. Everything else will stay the same and we will continue to supply and increase our stock of authentic TVR car parts. With over 15 years of experience working with TVRs, firstly as dealers and, since 2014, as the licensed supplier of parts, we remain dedicated to serving TVR owners. With over 250,000 parts already in stock we can confidently claim to offer the best service available in helping you keep your cars on the road!
We hope that you wish to continue to receive emails from us but should you wish to opt out please inform us through the link in the footer below. We are requested to pass on all customer details to TVR but will not do this without first obtaining your consent which we will do in due course by separate email.

Thank you everyone! I have been working on making the luxuries others cars have work. Such as a window that will go up and not just down, headlights that have high beams, a speedometer that doesn't stick at 30 MPH,
fuel tank sender that won't show 1/2 tank when it runs out of fuel and an oil pressure gage. Loud rear wheel bearings, surface rusty frame and erratic idle round out the beast. But, I absolutely love driving it.
Any source for a wiring diagram?

This would be handy for you, though the link says the can't ship to the US. Perhaps send to a relative or friend in the UK first? Or try ebay for a second hand copy.

Question for those of you brave enough to own a TVR in the USA - who do you/did you use for insurance?
I used Grundy. I have their Multi-Vehicle-Policy (MVP) and had several classics insured under it with them. No problems at all insuring my '92 Griffith when I imported it.I'm in South Carolina.
Pleased to report that a 1992 4.0 Precat Griffith is about to leave Southampton on its way to CT USA to join my Chimaera.
Its going to be a long wait for the arrival :-)
lancepar - that looks like one of my old Griffith that you have there ..... it came to Madrid with me and returned to the UK via Fernhurst when I went to the US.
