This country has been living beyond its means for a long time.
We've done that by 'sweating the assets', if it ain't totally broke yet why spend money on maintaining it? It looks great for a while then one day everything breaks at once.
We've now reached that day an there isn't the money, time or resources to fix it.
Never mind, have a small reduction in National Insurance Tax instead.
