2022 V12 Vantage roadster owners

I’m in the market to replace our AMG GTC Roadster, was et on DB12 volante until i saw it in the flesh, hanging hopes on new Vantage roadster but yet to see it in the flesh..

Then saw a 2023 V12 coupe recently and was surprised that i quite liked it, just so happens it was sat alongside a standard amg gt roadster and thought the V12 really looked brutal bur elegant, it was a subtle spec sans wing which i prefer, bit like this one pictured.

Just wandering if anyone on here owns the V12, preferably the roadster as thats what id want, whats scuttle shake like? I had a vanquish S volante and it wasnt brilliant in this department, not vs the amg gtc/r at any rate.

Any owners comments appreciated

Not often you see posts on here about this car but I’m fairly sure that RobDown bought one around a year ago. Whether he still has it or not I’m not sure, but unfortunately he rarely posts in this forum now. Considering how much new new Vantage is likely to cost, and the requisite add on to that for new new Vantage Roadster, imho these previous generation V12 cars represent pretty good value now as a large part of the depreciation hit has filtered through already. So if you’re not bothered about the previous generation interior, then go for it. BRM.

I have a V8 roadster - I too was a bit concerned about wobbliness but after 5 months with the car, I can't say that it's an issue at all. I had an M4 cab before and that was woeful - a 911 cab before that & I'd say the AM is comparable. (but much faster)

I don’t own one but test drove one and there was no noticeable scuttle shake .Was a good drive as well but interior was a huge let down and car felt very Mercedes like .The new interior is really all it needed not sure it needed an unusable amount of bhp.

I've got a 2022 V12 Coupe so can't comment on scuttle shake.

But I can say that the 5.2L V12 TT powertrain is amazing in such a small car. It's visceral and sounds utterly amazing and is savage beyond any V8. The in car entertainment is dated but who cares if its not a DD.

The V12 easily trumps the AMG V8 and updated interior if you're a petrolhead.

No scuttle shake in my V8 AM6 roadster. Glides over bumpy roads at all sorts of speeds. It’s a remarkable handling car.

I prefer V8 in both VH2 and AM6 platforms as you get a better handling car but I can see the V12 appeal for others.

Well thats good to hear on the shake side of things & the feedback on general ride comfort and it smoothing things out well is also encouraging, especially after the recent reviews of the new vantage which doesnt have a comfort mode for its suspension settings and a very large percentage of the reviewers slating it for its harsh ride.

With the new car in roadster format probably tipping the scales at 250k after being specced, this car falls squarely in the same ring to my mind, grill, haunches etc making it visually comparable (if not the headlights) but it has the addition of theV12 lump, interior has never been a big issue for me and tbh i quite like it, i do prefer the newer one but i dont dislike the old one (had a vanquish S)

I have other cars for ‘handling prowess’ so it doesnt need to be cutting edge in that department either..

I take it these cars arent shifting from the time theyve been stood at £250k, do we think haggle factor is helped by the new model entry or hindered by the fact no V12 is currently available? Though with the vanquish v12 announcement, i cant see a v12 vantage being far away..

This the car? Looks great. The V12s are relatively good value. A lot of the new V8 is based on the V12.... except of course that engine. It's an amazing car.

I too am interested in the V12 vantage, despite not being invited to buy one new, Aston depreciation is doing its thing and making them even more appealing. Good luck on your search!

FYI all new gen Vantages are without “comfort mode”. It was always Sport, sport+ & track. The new facelift vantage introduces a wet mode too.
