Nice pictures of your Morgan

It is indeed. The roads and scenery are spectacular helped as you say by the marvellous weather. My family are originally from Aultbea but I live on the Isle of Wight now (nearly a 2000 mile round trip). We make the trip twice a year usually in March/April and October/November when it's quieter. Always stay at the Kylesku and the Torridon down in Wester Ross. My father took a keen interest in your car as an ex +8 owner in which I have fond memories of touring the area with him. Alas far too uncomfortable for an octogenarian these days. Good job really as we had a 5 1/2 hour detour around Stoke on the way up as the M6 was shut in both directions!
Did you drive a planned route John or just mooch about?

You should have come and found us I would have taken your dad for a spin.
It was a little last minute. We had a rough of idea of where we were going but nothing fixed apart from hotels. Left the hotel and headed north along the coast road then turned right at Tongue through to Pitlochry.
Hardly saw any cars for a good 3 hours or so. Lovely drive.
I don't think envy your round trip the roads south are hell compared to Scotland. Although the middle part of Scotland seemed to be full of plod and Tesco home delivery vans.

It looks even more stunning in the flesh! That would have been a very kind offer, thank you. We did try and guess who would fit the bill at dinner without success and were away early in the morning. The only plod we encountered the entire trip was two bikes escorting some enormous turbine blades near Auchtertyre (A87). Glad you enjoyed your trip.

That is beautiful. I REALLY want a Morgan. Had TVRs in the past (and now a family) but thinking about my next toy.
best to go for a Plus 8 or are the other, smaller engined, models as quick?
I now have this one - a Plus 8best to go for a Plus 8 or are the other, smaller engined, models as quick?
My experience of the 'traditional' Morgan was that it was lovely, but with the engineering sophistication of a medieval ox cart. Leaf springs at the back and sliding pillar at the front. If you're prepared for this rather eccentric set up, then you'd like it. Mine was a Roadster, so a 3.7L V6 engine..... quick? It's OK, but not a 911 beater - 0-60 in 5.5.
The Plus 8 is an entirely different animal. A big lazy 4.8 V8 from BMW and a proper aluminium chassis, proper suspension and decent vented discs all round. Seriously quick. Seriously expensive (for what it is).
Haven't posted any pics up here for a while so here's one from an evening run last week on the climb up from Cockbridge to the Lecht.
