A mad, bad Mini project

Maybe they have taken in private builds for people?
If they have, that's fine. I've have issues they don't want to elaborate on and need to put the project on indefinite hiatus, that's fine. If they just can't handle it, they've got bogged down in details and totally lost the ability to finish it... that's still fine. But for the love of fking god just be honest with us and yourselves lads. 'Final Binky episodes in the new year'... come on lads, surely you don't believe that?
Of course this disappears into the ether as I am sure they don't read this forum, but still.

So, my curiosity and a failing memory got the better of me so I rejoined the Patreon for a, very brief, period to dig up what the promised this year vs what they actually delivered:
Pathetic.
I really don't understand the need for the bitterness and vitriol being posted here by you and others.- April - Episode 38 of Project Binky - Pass, it did actually arrive in April, just, on the 29th.
- April/May - Howie Did It - Homemade PCB's - Fail, still hasn't appeared.
- May - Episode 39 of Project Binky - Failed, still hasn't been seen.
- May - Silverstone Classic 2022 - Fail. They published it, but they published it in August and failed to point out it was actually a year old video reposted.
- May/June - BOM Customs - Toyota Celica - Fail, published in November.
- June - The Chevron Story - Fail, not been published.
- June - Episode 40 of Project Binky - Fail, not been published.
- June/July - The Millington Story - Fail, not been published.
Pathetic.
If it turned out that - say - one of their young children had become seriously ill and this had forced them to step away from everything for a while, you're going to feel (if you're any kind of decent human) pretty sh!tty about calling them "pathetic". It's none of our business why they've stepped away, or even whether or not they tell us the reason. You can only choose whether to continue to support them with your Patreon subscription or not. There's no need at all for the nastiness.

It's astonishing that two people who capitalised early on to monetise their YouTube channel via Patreon have allowed it to fail. There is a forum attached to their website that is a ghost-town, their social media presence is spotty at best and the YouTube/Patreon earnings must be plummeting.
I no longer have a dog in the fight - I stopped my Patreon when it became apparent that it's just being milked. The abandonment of one's core product and audience didn't go well for Ratner's and I suspect it won't go well for Bad Obsession Motorsport either.
As regards Ratner, that’s not really what happened. The business was wildly successful because they did focus on the core product and audience. Admitting that was what brought them down I no longer have a dog in the fight - I stopped my Patreon when it became apparent that it's just being milked. This episode of “When It Hits The Fan” is good on the topic: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001trw4?partner...

You can see Megaflow's point though, all throughout the year they kept saying they are working on content and videos will be out soon. If something means videos need to be on the back-burner for a while, just say that (and only that, no need for details). If it turned out that - say - one of their young children had become seriously ill and this had forced them to step away from everything for a while, you're going to feel (if you're any kind of decent human) pretty sh!tty about calling them "pathetic". I supported them for years on Patreon, I was one of the very first to do so, and have given them a reasonable sum of money, I bought some merchandise as well, and last year got fed up with the broken promises so binned them off.

Exactly. They have a lot of fans, it is more than acceptable to say that it has to go on the back burner, for whatever reason.Under promise and over deliver. Not, over promise and underdeliver as BOM have done.
They decided that the editing software didn’t meet the bespoke nature of the project, so Nick has bought a commodore Amiga off EBay and he is current learning machine code with a view to producing their own editing software.

Another case of over-promise/under-deliver?
They've really pissed on your chips haven't they? All you do is post in here every month or so to remind us how bad they are...That's not healthy, you should move on with your life...

I believe the key-feel didn't meet the required levels of clack vs comfort and the rise was under-damped, so they're milling a new Qwerty 'board, investigating three way adjustable damping on the main keys and some sort of Panhard rod under the spacebar.Rich has, meanwhile, cut a 4:3 ratio hole in a carboard box, stuck it on his head like a space helmet and from "within the TV" called the new monitor done.
Nik is disappointed, but not surprised.
Rich has had his scissors taken away.
