Hi

Has anyone bought a ex national grid Hilux ? are they ragged as they seem to be sold at around the 160k mark ... any idea what they come with / whats in the back ?

Thinking about building one into a small holiday vehicle..

thanks Matt

What age are you looking at ?
king cab ?
Service history ? services every 10K
I briefly looked at this advert :
https://www.brightwells.com/timed-sale/5383/lot/60...
seems like quite an older model
Face lifted ones are far nicer on road when empty
older models quite harsh, suspension tuned for being loaded perhaps?
the advert shows a truckman style loadspace cover.
I would suspect they are fairly well used/worn when they start to get rid.

I have the latest model Invincible (my second) it has been the most reliable car brand I have ever had
other than servicing, nothing else has needed attention in 3 years and 40k miles.

Would love to know what they've installed in the back...like a heater would be bloody hand if planning on using it for camping :-)

Theres no heater in the back, the area is just used for parts and tool storage. It will no doubt come stripped of anything of value.

Hopefully treated better than the white fleet Hilux's we used to get in the Army.

I once tried to jump some abandoned train tracks and didn't quite make it. Car bottomed out between one of the rails and bent the chassis.

Doors all still opened and closed OK so just handed it back in at the end of the exercise. They didn't notice the gap between the cab and bed was a little larger than it should be. Not my finest hour, we had headaches for the rest of the day.
