Really enjoying IV and looking forward to V, at this rate I might just finish both before VI is released!
If you're enjoying Nico and GTAIV I'd highly recommend the 2 story DLCs. The lost and the damned is the biker gang themed one and whatever the other one was called which is excellent especially the mental last mission.

The Lost biker gang from the first DLC also appear in V.
Cheers for that - noticed that the DLC appears to be available when launching GTA IV, I did buy the LC Stories on PS3 but didn't get very far into it. I'm almost finished IV so I might play those before I go on to V.
Playing the Lost and Dammed and Ballard of Gay Tony DLC on GTA IV is a no-brainer - not only are they brilliant but we didn't get any story DLC in GTA V. I'd take my sweet time with them too.

For Lost and Dammed the motorcycle physics get an upgrade - much easier to ride. biggrin

Exactly, GTA online and the revenue it generated are so big because people want to play it.
Name me one company in the world that has a popular product that customers throw money at who then say "We're going to stop that and create a successor".

Given the half assed nature of most games and the number of remakes because its easier than doing something original nowadays Rockstar deserve some credit for their approach to games.

Back to the trailer, the graphical detail is impressive - smashed glass, police bodycams, interiors to buildings rather than 2D windows, working car mirrors and so on.. The common view is that R* don't use CGI to generate this stuff, so all of what you see is generated by the game engine. Sure, gameplay won't be as detailed but its impressive nonetheless. The video is currently being scruitinsed to death online, there's an awful lot of stuff in that short video!

I'm curious if they will put story mode online, so you can play it solo or have freinds join to help or if online will remain totally separate - if it does I wonder if there will be a prologue to your character having to leave Los Santos and do a bunk to the east coast, arriving with a few bucks and the shirt on your back..
When it does come out wonder if there be any old faces reappear from the woodwork. Don't have a ps5 myself so possibly be buying on the pc if comes out for that

PS5/Xbox sometime in 2025. PC at some point after that, so plenty of time.

I assume it'll be linked to social club so the crew(s) will still be active, but who knows.

PC likely a 12 to 18 months after if previous is anything to go by

How long are each of those? Think I'm just about finished the main story now.

The only GTA I'd ever finished was Ballad of Gay Tony. Loved it. It felt like a full length story to me but it passed at a nice pace. Interestingly I am also playing GTA iV through at the moment. I'd started it a few times years ago but this time I've stuck with it and really enjoying it. I was messing around with it on PC but had issues getting it running right so I am playing it on my PS3. The first time it went to save it asked me if I wanted to write over my existing last save from 2013 :-).

Cheers for that - sounds like there's some time to kill before VI gets to a PC release so at the rate I get through games that might work out quite nicely, timing-wise smile

I'm thinking of replaying GTA IV. Realise I never actually finished it for some reason even though i've played through GTA V 3 times. I was going to download it but it's £17 on the xbox store, think i'm going to have to dig out the old disc.

Downloaded GTAV at the weekend for the first time in years. Without the rose-tinted glasses, it certainly feels like a 10-year-old game wearing a bit of modern makeup. The controls seem very laggy, RDR2 was similar, maybe it's a feature.

Anyone know if the Game Pass version is the Expanded & Enhanced version?

The slow movement is by design. I hope they wind it back a bit for 6. I end up playing in first person as it’s a bit more responsive.

I think the slow movement suits RDR2 for the most part.
It's fine in GTA V, although I would prefer it to be a little quicker.

To be honest I’m probably the opposite. The movement in GTA V is never an issue, but can be painful in RDR2. Especially when running in buildings during a gunfight (admittedly that could just be my coordination hehe) .

Or when looting bodies… which reminds me of this biggrin

Question is, will we get vr support out of the box?

Sadly, the answer is no. Wayyy to contentious....though would get great news coverage.

Who is the longest running character? Is it Laslo from the talk radio? I remember there being a mission involving him in the last one but can’t remember if he dies.

I would have thought having a populated city with everything going on in the middle of a gunfight / char chase etc would be extremely resource hungry.
Lots of speculation at the moment but likeihood of 30fps gameplay.

I think Billy meant old players from the wiki ? but in any case, someone on gta forum spotted this. Possibly Lance Vance in the trailer

Someone did a comparison to real life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQPdtqA4PK8&em...

Can't be, Lance Vance died in Vice City.

I have to say lads, the bunch of you moaning about the trailer is hilarious!

Bad humour? It's Rockstar, they're renowned for humour and pushing the limits with what is shown or said in their video games. I expect there will be a lot of piss taking in the game, judging from the multiple "viral video" copies in the trailer. The convict is a recreation of the "Miami Joker" for example.

Those talking about the characters looking weird, go look at the GTAV protagonists in the first trailers and compare them to the finished product, or Arthur in RDR2 compared to the final game. Both were very altered (for the better) once the game released. One thing I certainly can't agree with is those of you saying the graphics look like GTAV. GTAV still looks great, but there's no comparison to the new RAGE engine used in GTA6...Hair physics, individual items rendered in the store, the car interior detail, individually rendered cash notes being held in Lucia's hand, all the NPC activity...There's no comparison, this is the very first trailer we've seen and I already think it looks like a huge improvement over GTAV.

Me personally, I cannot wait. It looks incredible, the leaks/rumours so far talking about its weapon system and NPC A.I sound incredible and seeing as it's been made using alot of technology from RDR2, I personally think we are in for a HELL of a game.

Also, for those complaining about the trailer having "nothing but vehicles from GTAV", I've no doubt we will probably see GTAV vehicles in the final game, but Rockstar commonly re-use assets from the previous game when testing or making a trailer.

Have to say I was a bit disappointed, I was hoping for a bit of a new location, there were rumours of a Japanese city for example, but they've gone with Vice City for the second time (third if you include the first game!). In another 10 years time they'll probably be back in Liberty City...

I loved the rumour it was going to be set in London or even rockstar home turf of Scotland.

I’m still really looking forwards to it but yes, somewhere new would have been awesome also.

4th time for VC I think, GTA, GTA Vice City, GTA Vice City Stories and GTA 6

GTA game map sizes (VI according to a leak). At least on size, calling VI the same as before because it's Vice City again is like comparing Blackpool to Paris because they've both got a metal tower.
