Dorset police have issued the following update on their FB page:

" Officers are issuing an update following a reported assault in Poole.
It was reported that between 12.20am and 12.30am on Sunday 28 April 2024 a man was involved in an altercation with two men outside the Kitchen Elegance store in Bournemouth Road when he was punched in the head and knocked unconscious. He was taken to hospital for treatment to head and facial injuries.
Following enquiries and a CCTV appeal, a 27-year-old local man has been identified and is assisting officers with their enquiries."

That'll be 27 year old James Gilbert, then. Hopefully he does time. I can't imagine him not for vandalism + assault. In all likelihood, unprovoked.

Also I noticed some influencers were charged for promoting unlicensed investments (AKA utter scams) on social media . Includes my fave, Lauren Goodger, who has spent a lot of money to look like a blow-up doll/drag queen/plastic parody of a woman.

https://www.fca.org.uk/news/press-releases/finflue...

If simply promoting someone else's scams is chargeable, with potential jail time, then those at the heart of the scams should be treated even more harshly. I dream of a day when all of SOFX are behind bars, although they seem unable to avoid getting into trouble with the law for unrelated reasons.

The trade room companies house records show some Poole connections, curious

Looks like things are winding up from a cursory glance

Oh please do share any Virtus stuff. Clatworth and Homer do make a bizarre and gruesome twosome. Interesting that Clat survived cancer as a youth. You'd think he'd have a newfound gratitude for, and purpose in, his life, but he chooses to spend all his time scamming and LARPing as a Finance/Crypto/AI guru.

https://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/news/11066072.ne...

The Trade Rooms switched to a Poole address from Southampton late last year and there's loads of companies registered there, so just a postal address to avoid heat at an actual office or someone's home I think. The previous address was, unusually, an actual residence. Most scammers are smart enough to just use postal addresses, but these are the dregs of SOFX. When I can be bothered, I'll find out who owns it. Likely not James of course. Good financial decisions like spending his ill-gotten gains on house ownership, or good decisions in general, aren't his forte.

My friend screenshotted a load of the guff, I’ll get him to fwd it.

I see Scott bleakley of Salisbury (former sofx) was involved again.

Clink time soon

Are the trade rooms actually making much? (Declaring much)

Connor's posted a story in Nathan's Famous (presumably the one in Highfield), so back in Southampton. Crap place, no idea why him and Jordan Homer post about going there.

Companies are only made to post abridged accounts on Companies House, so it doesn't have to include profit and loss. Of course, Directors can hide a lot in expenses and inter-company loans anyway, especially when they're serial fraudsters, but I doubt our subjects are that sophisticated.

They did declare profit for the six months Sep '20 to March '21 and the company apparently made £17k in profit, £16k of which was paid out as dividends to James Gilbert and Mark Dhanda. Shocking stuff. For the March '21 - March '22 year they didn't declare profit but the overall position was £10k in debt. This included an £8 loan and a £2k "rent deposit" so they were likely just running up personal expenses on the company. That or a Moresby Tower flat is an essential business expense so you can pretend to be successful on IG.

They never released further annual statements for 2 years after that, in typically negligent scammer fashion, before dissolving it. Maybe business dried up or perhaps they were affected by legal crackdowns or the other contributors to the scam (marketers, brokers, bot suppliers) stopped working with them/giving them work on credit. Given how SOFX screwed all their suppliers and even the landlord, I wouldn't be surprised.

I did once pretend to fall for the Trade Rooms generous offer of free signals (they messaged me first iirc) and exchanged many enlightening messages with Mark. The whole scam relies, of course, on them earning commission from the broker you lose all your money to. His angle was to repeatedly call me a spineless coward when I backed out of the 'investment'. He was clearly desperate as he was sending some messages at 2AM. It must work on the naive young lads they target, though. As no wise man said, "If you've got no balls, you won't get your effortless Lambos, yellow bags and compound passive income."

Sounds legit then, I’ve not seen Dhanda around for a while, he lives nearish

Usual story then, wonder what the next money spinner will be (other than VOIP telesales)

Think he has worn them out mincing up and down too much

A bit like their cufflinks, must be industrial grade strength given the amount of times they are fiddled with

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a business mastermind fiddling with their stuff as much as these clowns

I’m also sure these same clowns bang on about most millionaires wear old T-shirts they’ve had since 1958

Absolutely brilliant. Thanks. Everything about them oozes nous and professionalism.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZRrNtkDtYs

The above shows Scott's outstanding currency analysis circa 2018 ish at SOFX. Featuring the legendary giant chin himself, George Linf. All of them mumble their way through some unconvincing half-baked currency analysis. George more ambitiously throwing in the "Head and Shoulders neckline" as part of some bullst graph terminology. Scott comes across like a middle-aged bumpkin with learning difficulties with two lazy BTEC students; the Four Lions terrorists of the finance world. Someone give them a Front Office roles at a Bulge Bracket immediately.

A bit more searching reveals Scott is currently the chairman of a Salisbury rugby team and they are 'sponsored' by Virtus. Good to see some of that scammed money going to a good cause.

I think Scott runs / owns a gym in Salisbury, we take our kids to a soft play near by.

That video illustrates what a bunch of chancers these guys are. I wonder if they are doing better or worse overall than their mates who took conventional careers

Self-selection, "innit". Neither they nor they're friends had good prospects to begin with, so they may well be doing better than their friends-with the added risk of fines or jail. The outliers being people like Max Strode-Gibbons (Director at SOFX) , not talented or well educated, but the son of a well-known former mortgage magnate. He was clearly at pains to not be photographed with them or appear involved at all, though.

Most of them are honest about having previous jobs doing boilers, gas, or being postmen, mechanics etc. We can see that once SOFX shut down, most went back to their call centre or manual labour jobs. Most of them just keep up social media pretending to be full time Gurus, whilst doing a 9-5. Perhaps Clat and Homer are actually full-time scammers, but I doubt it.
