If I was a good driver and/or trying to climb the Porsche ladder, I think it probably would have been worth a chat, but in all honesty, right now I have no plans to come out of it. Cost to change to anything upwards would be a huge step up with, for me, not enough reward(driving or financial) in return. I count myself lucky to have got a GT4 allocation, for a car that at the time (and still now) I thinkght/think is one of the best value sports cars Porsche do £for£. So anything upwards (992 GT3, 4RS, Spyder RS) for me would just be for bragging rights, which at my stage of life I'm not interested in doing.But good news for GT4s
When it drop it off tomorrow morning, I'm taking my 10yr old son (the joys of half-term) with me to have a look around the showroom, so I'll no doubt see the aforementioned 992, and also have a chat with the salesman if he's there, but there's nothing currently in my interest (or in their financial interest) that would see me change/sell.

The UV car looks lovely, but still £20k over current list.
There is a non Weissach car at £155 ... I contacted the OPC two months ago to say that I was interested but that it was far too expensive, I didn't get a reply and it's still there and still too expensive compared to others.
One of the three sold (with the free watch) was a very nice but high spec car and that OPC was really on the ball. But by then I had changed direction.
The one at York has dropped £15k but still too much imho. I can think of three ... all of which were priced at around £160-£165k for a very high spec car with a good story. With one of them the watch was free ... !! Only one had PCCB's, which I would not want on a GT3 or GT4RS ... the other two had mags ...

But I would never now recommend PCCB's for track use. I was gob-smacked to discover that after 10,000 miles and approximately 12 fast trackdays the PCCB's that I removed from my 981 GT4 (prior to significant other modification) appear to be 50% worn. That despite following all the rules on pad changes at 50% and two cooling down laps ...
ST's are now very expensive, but better to put the cost of PCCB's towards them than to specify PCCB's IMHO.
As for the price at which it will sell ... £169 ?? £10k over current list to lubricate the process, for a very nice car now ... when who knows what further price increases there may be ??

Surface transforms £14k - at least one renewal of 25k miles and track work? £2k to renew =£16k
Second hand value ~ £8k (based on an almost new set being sold on FB)
Total running costs £8k over 25k miles
PCCB - Renew once before 25k miles, £2k per disc =£8k.
So over 25k miles not too dissimilar, if you're keeping your car longer or doing more trackdays then go Surface Transforms + ST pads last longer I believe.
But at the moment we have one guy on 56 trackdays and 33% PCCB wear and yourself at 12 trackdays and 50% wear. Those 2 cases are so out of alignment that I don't think you can draw a reasonable conclusion yet over lifespan.
Interesting Solihull have 4 GT4RS all with top spec with mags all but 1 with ceramics. The 23 73 plate 1800 mile Arctic car has a current list of £163500 with an AP of £180000.
Best value atm looks like the recently listed GTS mags and steels Teeside car April 23 1764 miles at just £5500 over current list.

One has to question how much upside there may be in the measurements taken from my discs ? But they can't be more than 50% worn !

I have just been in there and seen both of those GT4 RS cars: The black one at £175k is the higher spec and has full PPF and was was £155k book price when new Best value atm looks like the recently listed GTS mags and steels Teeside car April 23 1764 miles at just £5500 over current list.
