Hope that was just the meeting point! Can’t imagine too many wanting to tour the scenic roads of Cumbernauld hehehehe
Reasonably local to me - is it a forum or FB group? And is a 954 Blade allowed?

Had a run back from Rothbury with Peter, another one of the regular old boys that I've known since I was 16.
Does he go to the Manx with a bloke called John Moss Robinson also from up your way ?
Yes, if its the One I'm thinking of he is a top class welder.

Peter would have been with big Peter a good friend of mine who died 2 years ago.

Speaking of Peter in the photo, he fell of his Manx Norton a couple of years ago and broke his femur. (a 20mph crash)

Peter also rides all round with no gloves, I saw him out at the end of January this year with no gloves on. He's as hard as nails still.

Never had a plug before. It's can be ridden to my local bike place and plugged there in then can't it or is it a wheel out job.

Agree, get well soon. As for the car driver, hope their next ste is a hedgehog
Yep, 4 or 5 other car drivers saw what happened and made statements putting the blame firmly in the car drivers court.

Just picked this up for the summer. Only managed 40miles so far but really enjoying it. A big change from the R18 I had last year.

Was that an R18 got a good rate as spouse works for them or their work has a deal with BMW?

Spent yesterday riding two large bikes around an outdoor karting track.

I never got used to the sound of scraping pegs

Is that a Z900? They tick quite a few boxes for me, apparently the LED headlamps are pretty good, except faster and less economical.
Yeah the OH works for BMW so get the chance to have a bike for the summer. Had an R18 last year, and decided a R12 this year would be a good change.

Sorry, shoulda explained and wrote that in English. Does the tyre have to come off the rim for it to be done. Just thinking I'd be as well dropping off and picking up the wheel later rather than having to book it in standing about if it needs to come off the rim.

New bike day for me - Tuono V4 Factory - after all the hype I decided to try one, well wow!

My friend took this, a pro photographer with his lovely Monster 821 which is his first big bike.

All ready for a ride around the Mâconnais early tomorrow. Depart 6h from here in the Burgundian Bresse, back by midday to cook Mrs B some lunch. There’s a small blanket in the top box in case I encounter a vineyard and need to bring back a few bottles smile

Yes. The wheel does have to be removed from the bike Alex.

Things might have changed as it's been a while so please check but permanent approved tyre repairs are a mushroom fitted from the inside so tyre off the rim.

Nice and quiet on The Plain this morning. But a tad chilly as cloud cover decided to hang around for a bit longer than was desirable. Heated grips helped!

Spent the last couple of weeks doing a mini refurb on my £800 cb500. The standard down pipes were rotten and one of the studs had snapped off, luckily there was enough thread left to weld a nut on and extract it. The next task was cleaning the front of the engine as it had years worth of grime on it, ideally the engine needs removing and repainting. With the engine tidied up I changed the oil as I had no clue when it was last done but from the state of it probably about 5 years a go. The chain and sprockets were also spent so changed them, which meant I could clean and tidy up the bits you can't normally get to with the main job being the swing arm. As those with cb500 experience will know, they rust for fun but luckily this one is in good condition. I sanded back the old paint and surface rust and it got back to bare metal without any holes showing so I was happy. I repainted it black with some Kramp tractor paint just to keep it protected for the riding season. I will take it off and get it shot blast and power coated over winter. New chain and sprockets went back on, the full Delkevic exhaust went on and I stood back and admired my work.

Oh I forgot to say I also put some carbon tank covers on as there's a dent in the tank. I then took it for a test ride last night and it runs lovely, feels so good with the new chain and sprockets but the best bit is riding it without the blowing down pipes. The bike now owes me £1200 all in and I couldn't be happier.
