Also, worth turning on the location tracking report that they will send you every month. They really know everywhere you have been down to individual shops, pubs and restaurants.
How do you turn that on please. I use duckduckgo for most of my browsing, but use Google maps a lot and google on my iphone.
I can't remember - I turned it on somewhere (think it might be via the account settings if you log in over the web) and I get a monthly report literally summarising everywhere I've travelled to (all plotted on a map too, including journey routes) along with stats and highlighted points of interest that I've visited (shops/bars/leisure centre/beach/woods). I think it was specifically linked to privacy settings .. the various reports are supposedly letting you know what Google knows to give you a better idea if you want to limit tracking.

It's kind of handy as a 'diary' but also reveals that Google lliterally know EVERYWHERE you have physically been in a month, as long as you had your phone on you. It might also get data from tablets and Android watches too.

The problem is that so many services/apps want you to enable tracking (to a fine level) that sooner or later you end up turning it on 'permanently'.

Problem is if you walk past lots of shops you start getting requests for reviews or "please answer a few weird questions about diapers and cracked corn" even though you've never been in them.
