It is indeed. Have owned it for our years and enjoyed every minute. The colour changes according to the light, presenting never ending requirements for further photos smile

Took it out shopping after Paddy328 came over for a day yesterday to give it a bit of a polish and re-apply a ceramic sealer

So shiny again!

Thank you, Francis

I hope it wasn't mine as it's supposed to be locked up in storage at the moment. Apologies for the gratuitous photo but I couldn't resist:

Defo not that one. Lovely car though!

What colour is that? The one I saw was darker.

Maybe more like this? Cinnabar Orange, an absolutely stunning colour. Photo from 2016, I since heard this particular car had been written-off. frown

It's Montana Orange, which I am told was a special colour for this V12 Carbon Black that was used as a press car.

Sabiro Blue.

Sunday was a fun day. A 280km round trip for brunch in Wollombi. It’s such a joy to be in a convoy of Astons.

There was a young boy at the McDonalds meeting spot maybe 11 or so that must have taken 20 photos of just my car. On his knees capturing every detail. It made me laugh a little that he would want to take photos of such an “ugly car”. I thought perhaps it just appeals to children but his Dad also said he loved it as we were leaving.

Sections were a bit like British B roads. The speed limit was 100km/h on those roads. Very strange when they have now reduced the speed limit on the much smoother perfectly cambered road sections to between 60-80km/h and have police hiding in the bushes. Anything to improve the state budget I guess. Also, the DB5 is just as quick as everyone else, it’s very well sorted.

What is the speed limit on British B roads these days?

Speed, police, terrible combination... Dunno about the UK, B-roads in Switzerland are usually 80km/h (motorways 120), so it`s easy to find yourself going over after an exuberant cornering. The Swiss trim 5km/h from the recorded speed, so if you are doing 85 you won`t get flashed, if you are doing 89 you`ll get a ticket for doing 84km/h. Seldom are there speed cameras on the B-roads, maybe in small villages, and I`ve only seen police doing B-road radar checks once in 17 years. Unfortunately, that was the full experience...

Max speed limit in New Zealand is 100km/h, so regardless of B-road or motorway, and they jump on every transgression, so 101 in a 100 zone and you`re probably getting a ticket, and they have cops out prowling the B-roads constantly. Shame, as there are such nice roads. Case in point via link below. Sorry, wrong brand but great clip.

It varies. The basic "National speed limit" for a single-carriageway road outside of a built-up area is 60 mph (96 kph), but huge numbers of them now have posted limits of 50 mph (80 kph) or even 40 mph (64 kph) - at least where I live in the Midlands.

Dual-carriageways national limit is 70 mph (112 kph)

I achieved this notable milestone yesterday. I guess the car is only worth scrap value now so I think I'll just keep it smile

Dropped my V8V off at Martins Aston Services near Glasgow last week for some upgrades and future proofing, including new suspension, twin plate clutch, subframe refurb, discs and pads all round.
Popped in today to see how things were progressing and for an update from Peter, Alan and Chris. As always, I was made to feel very welcome and the team at Martins gave me a full tour and detailed rundown on progress to date.
Despite the car being 17 years old I was really surprised at how good/clean my car is underneath although there is some surface rust on the subframe which justifies why the refurb is worth doing with all the other work that is being done.
Great progress already so I’m really looking forward to getting the car back.
