At first look, I didn't think the blue roof would work but the more I see it the more I like it. That color has quite of bit of blue tone in it.

I have to be honest and say that IMHO the roof looks like it's come from a different car. Like the black one got vandalised and all they could find in a hurry was a s/h one from a scrapper.

I will now run away very quickly biggrin

I approve of the colour choices, it will look lovely. An antidote to all the black, grey, silver out there. Bravo!

Black thread may cost the same as green or yellow but if you think that means they should cost the same as an option you need to think about how manufacturing works. If the standard product has black thread then the production cycle for the product will be set up for black thread. To stop the process, change the thread to yellow, make a set with yellow and then stop the process and put it back to black takes time and time is money.
Yeah, kind of... Astons are all sewn by hand mate on sewing machines! There is "no process" as such, unlike with a mass market car. So its about 30 seconds to put a bobbin on yellow thread on instead of the black the tailer had on the machine already.
Even when hand sewn it’s not as simple as that

You may want to try the Aston Martin DB12 group on Facebook. The admin has a green and tan Volante and there are a lot of pictures of the interior and exterior on that site. He has a black roof with all black wheels, but you can see various cars on tha site.

Just to throw my ten pence worth in.
I think the blue roof and silver wheels look really nice with the green on the configuration image. Your very fortunate to specifying a new DB12 and I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it.

I fairly sure this is Malachite Green, in which case I’m very happy with it…

Just need to wait 5 more months now…!

Well I'm definitely with him on the malachite green smile

I think it was the DB11 that broke the monochrome mould that affected so many Gaydon cars.

I’m wrong! The owner tells me it’s actually Buckingham Green…so still waiting for the first confirmed photo of a real Malachite Green AM….

Have they actually sold a car in that paint? Wonder if it’s worth contacting AM directly rather than the dealer.

Green9, not sure if this is adding 2 plus 2 to get 5, but a “paint to sample” 911 is on sale in Malachite Green Metallic.

Maybe a coincidence that the name is a same and the paint is a sample from elsewhere, but it looks like this:

Thank you for that but the Porsche PTS Malachite is quite different from the AM one.

I went today to the dealer and had another look at the sample and I’ve decided (finally!) that it looks fantastic.

Here’s today’s photo

Out of interest, what does a simply specced DB12V come in at?
Please feel free to PM me if you don't want to say publicly.
This isn’t my car but a photo I took today of a quite high-spec Volante in the dealer but gives an idea of pricing.

Gorgeous choice of colour and glad you’ve gone with what you want with the options rather than looking for a “resale” spec or penny pinching.

Have to say I struggle with some of the optional extra costs but once the wallet it open, it’s hard to resist adding them up. What’s £20-30k when you are spending £200k anyway haha.

Thanks, v kind of you - yes will def post some photos to help others choose the right colour as the configurator’s not easy on the colour front!
