It's gonna suck for us PC Gamers as we'll probably have to wait a year.... its not like I don't have a backlog of games to keep me busy though.

One thing I really hope we get is future DLC - but I won't get my hopes up.

Employers will need to be braced for the massive amount of holiday/leave and "sickness" days off that will take place during release week hehe

I never got into GTA Online so I hope this one doesn't do anything to take away from the single player experience (I'm sure it won't). Very much looking forward to this and I hope the biggest surprise will be a release date of Q2 at the latest 2024.

I'll go for October/November 2024, just in time for Christmas.

Will be getting this on pre-order as soon as I can. Although, I can imagine it will be one of the most in demand games ever so it might be difficult.
I'll buy it digitally, there's little point to physical media for me these days.

Oh exciting. Think I'll be building a gaming PC just for this.

Rumour is that release will be somewhere within FY 24/25 based on Take Two forecasting big numbers that only GTA can pull. Well at least it won't be 2033.

The trailer will be the most forensically analysed in gaming history!

A few mates and I who are now all spread out across the country still play GTA V online together, though we make a private game session so we dont have to deal too much with other people online, none of us really play the solo stuff much so selfishly I hope they do put some thought into that side too.

Right but that will be a +1yr for PC I think - correct me if I'm wrong but since GTA5 has Rockstar released a new game simultaneously on console *AND* PC?

Yes you can bet on frame by frame analysis of the trailer lol.

Can't wait for this!

I reckon Spring 2025 release, possibly delayed until Autumn 2025.

Ah forgot about the delayed PC release. Will probably start the game on PS5 initially and switch to PC later. If the last game is anything to go by, the shelf life of VI will be quite something.

Surely they will develop it all at once, hasnt the Xbox and PC architecture converged somewhat since 5 ?

It's about time.

I don't know why I'm such a fanboy, I don't really play much these days, but I am!

Rumour, there's always rumours, is that the release date is closer than previous trailers because they held back to avoid the cruch and 'toxic workplace' of the past. Dunno about that, but I know I'll pre-order the st out of one of the expensive versions, and probally upgrade my Series S to a Series X just because.
Same as you, my PS5 sits mainly gathering dust, I think I only own 3 games for it! But GTA does get me excited.....

After the disappointing single-player from GTA V, I'm not overly excited about this although I have been a big fan of the series since 2001.

I am sure once the trailer drops I'll jump on the hype wagon though! hehe

There’s only a few game franchises I would dedicate taking annual leave for and this will be one of them.

Hoping it builds off of RDR2 more than GTA 5. A lot of people complain about the “realism” aspect and clunky controls but I personally love it.

GTA 4 physics were also much better than 5 imo.

My only concern is Online and how much resource has been put into that to the detriment of story mode…

What was disappointing about it? It's so long ago I can't really remember that much about it, I think I enjoyed it, but can't be sure!

The story itself was very poor - largely due to having 3x protagonists there just wasn't a concise and coherent start-to-finish story. It was just 3 people doing jobs together.

What character development there was was not interesting - Michaels's dysfunctional family was more annoying than anything else, Trevor was just a bit too insane to be relatable and Franklin was just a bit 2-dimensional and boring to me - I also hated Lemar - although a lot of people seem to like him.

What I also didn't like, is so much content was brought to the online component - weapons, cars, missions etc - yet very literally was actually put in the offline play - WHY? It's already in the game...

I thought the gameplay itself felt perfect. The mission design was mostly good, but for me the poor narrative made it all feel a bit pointless.
Also, pre-release they hyped up the heists to no end, but ultimately you had very little control over them and there really weren't many of them.

From a narrative POV, GTA IV remains the peak for me.
From a gameplay and sandbox POV, San Andreas was peak.
And then for personal nostalgia, setting and soundtrack, Vice City was my favourite.

Gosh, reading your post a lot of it is coming flooding back.
I do relate to some of your points actually. Maybe time has just left me thinking it was awesome when it wasn’t quite as good as I remember.

I still really enjoyed single player. The story was entertaining as such, although as noted one character was a bit too mad...

And on-line was ok when you had a team (and the trick to get your own server). Used to do a heist a night !

This is one of the very, very few games I will pre-order. Like others, I know I am going to get scr&&ed on the price, but I am still going to pay it.... If it is not out on PC straight away then I'll get it on the PS5 first, PC later.

Good summation. I don't entirely agree, I did enjoy single player (although confess I haven't actually quite finished it), but it did have it's flaws. I know the game has always been edgy, but it felt like they were pushing the boundaries for the sake of it with some of the OTT characters and missions.

GTA IV was a great game, but my PC died halfway through and I lost my saves, never got back round to finishing it (spot the theme hehe) But could be tempted to give it another run through as it'll run quite nicely on my aging laptop and give me an excuse to delay replacing it.

For me Vice City was peak, mainly because that was back in the days of me having plenty of spare time and no commitments so could complete everything on it. San Andreas was better but by then I didn't have the same amount of time spare for gaming.
