No I was in my club jersey, North Cheshire Clarion.

It was bloody hot and I didn’t drink enough which lead to cramps in the last 20 miles. That or insufficient training and an over ambitious first 50 miles when I thought I could ride with the big boy groups!!

I forgot suncream as well.

It was in the car but when I got to Grasmere my priority was finding a toilet with some bog roll in it.

Not to my knowledge. I got a place this year as I was a volunteer last year.

I've done this ride 5 times now and I would say that the car traffic on the A66 in particular was the worst I've seen. Probably due to the weather being so nice and bringing a lot of people into the Lakes. One of those things, it's a public road event. And I do hold my hand up and admit to riding in such a way to annoy the drivers (overtaking cars who in turn were held up by slower riders) but you do get wrapped up in the event. I am normally a very law abiding rider - no red light jumping etc.
