Going to the Britpop classical on 7th June which is (one member of) Republica, Ocean Colour Scene, the Las and someone else I can't remember) I agreed to go after a few drinks, I suspect it might be a bit rubbish.

Emilíana Torrini on the 20th of October. Again no idea what this will be like or even what the average person there will be like. I would describe her as a female Nick Drake, Fisherman's Woman is one of my favourite albums.

Both were because the tickets were not expensive and it's an evening out.

he was excellent the last time I saw him a few years ago. Surprisingly loud and much more guitar heavy than i expected having been a Pleasure Principle fan in my teen years; but very enjoyable all the same

........ yep, a very enthusiastic following

Yes, saw him about 5 years ago at the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen - a small venue - so loud it almost blew the roof off the place.... Brillliant.

As we've already discussed Pendulum in Birmingham was an awesome gig - very loud, lots of bass and very enjoyable.

I've treated myself to a Set list poster from it, which now has pride of place in my man cave - I'd recommend it.

H2O at Camden Underworld last night & Slamdunk (North) in Leeds on Sunday.

Hopefully should tick off a few bands that I've not seen before @ Slamdunk: LA Dispute, Honey Revenge, Bob Vylan, Asking Alexandra & State Champs; plus several that I've seen in the past: Snuff, Stick to Your Guns, Mad Caddies, Bouncing Souls, Pennywise, The Interrupters & H2O (again).

I must be getting old, I've not heard of any of those bands. hehe

Signs of the Swarm and Veil of Maya in October at the Engine Rooms in Southampton, not my favourite venue, but beggars on the South Coast, can't be choosers.

Off to Newcastle to see Eric Clapton tonight, then Bruce Springsteen at Sunderland in a couple of weeks.
Just to conclude - Clapton was brilliant, playing some of the best renditions of Cream stuff I've ever heard. There was hardly a dry eye in the arena after his acoustic 'Tears in Heaven'. Superb.

I was completely underwhelmed by Springsteen; most of the time he was like a very average Karaoke singer at the local pub. We left early to escape the multi-storey.

I saw Jane’s Addiction last night at the Roundhouse - they were superb - one of the best live performances I have seen.

Off to Tool tonight!

Gary Numan last night in Bournemouth...came away disappointed to be honest. Seen him many many times over the last 25 years or so and he's usually brilliant but I came away thinking that's my last one.

The set should have been great (especially the Pleasure Principle element, not so keen on Replicas) but I honestly think he puts in a lot more effort when playing the newer stuff and just interspersing it with "classics". Vocals sounded pretty poor for him too, may have been the mix.

Lights are great though as are his band and the Pleasure Principle synth parts are still after all these years utterly sublime but didn't do it for me.

Maybe I've just been spoilt with some great gigs recently (Orbital, Leftfield and Warrington Runcorn New Town Development Plan) or maybe the atmosphere wasn't usual Numan..don't know.

Dropkick Murphys @ Alex Palace in Feb next year - they were the last band that I saw (same venue) before the first 'rona lockdown kicked in a couple of weeks later. £53.05 per ticket via Dice App.

TOOL at the AO Arena last night.

An assault on the senses. Brilliant for the musical journey it was supposed to be, but we'd had enough after 70 minutes so left for some Italian food.
