Was quite happy with my EGO but after only one season it has stopped working.

Done about 3 cuts this year but I now just get orange light when I try to start it. Battery works in my blower fine so don't think it is that. Tried everything else suggested on a google search and have reinstalled blades but I get nothing.

EGO customer service is baffling. Lots of info on its website about its long warranty but no link to actually make a warranty claim. I did eventually find a form to fill in and entered my details but have heard nothing in 5 days and there was no confirmation email either.

Meanwhile the grass is growing.

Orange light means it's overloading, is the cutter deck clean?
Will the blade spin freely?
I have taken the blade off and put it back on again. Nothing is obstructing it at all and it spins fine.

I have a mulcher blade fitted but that has been there since a week after buying it.

Why don't you speak to the retailer you bought it from? Assuming they're an authorised dealer they should sort you out.
It was from Amazon and it says the seller is EGO Power Plus

Sent the email with fault details, warranty and purchase details.

Let's see what happens - thanks everyone.

Depending upon how old it is and how enthusiastic you are - when I had a similar problem with a Makita cordless mower, I opened it up and found a single loose connection. Swiftly fixed. It was a very simple device.
Only a year old.

Used less than 20 times in total I would guess. The unit looks pretty closed box and I would be concerned about invalidating the warranty by tinkering around.

I bought mine from a dealer so I'd take mine there. I also would expect them to know what's wrong with it so might be worth finding your local dealer and going from there?
I regret not buying it from a local dealer. This is something I would usually do so I cannot remember why I did not on this occasion.

If I get no joy from Ego then that will be my next port of call yes.

If you start an online chat with amazon, they will let you return. I have done this with things well outside of warranty.
Is that still possible? it is well outside of the returns window. I bought it 13 months ago.

Indeed.

Maybe new electronic mowers have a No Mow May time-based access restriction built in laugh
