Won't be familiar to everyone but I just read that David Sanborn, a fairly legendary sax player, has died at 78 of prostate cancer.
Notable for being the saxophonist on Young Americans, and also playing for Stevie Wonder, but he released several albums in his own right as well. He was a significant part of my musical life during an earlier phase, and one of the reasons I picked up a sax in the first place (tried to emulate him but never really got there).
