I really hope sainz lands something at the front. He's proving himself, I used to think Charles was the better driver but my opinion has really changed. Would be a shame to see him at a team further back... assuming audi aren't at the sharp end.
Sainz might be performing better lately or perhaps just got more lucky. I followed a bit their careers during karting, Leclerc was a great driver, up there with Max, Sainz on the other hand was average at best. Sainz was defeated by Kviyat in GP3 and just won the F-Renault 3.5 V6 because the grid was very weak. With no offense to Sainz, there is an abyss of talent between him and Leclerc. I don't think it was without a reason that Ferrari decided to change him with Hamilton and not Leclerc. Sainz looks like that average student or athlete who dedicates himself tremendously to compensate for the lack of natural talent. I do believe he deserves a Red Bull or Mercedes seat.

Audi will take 5 years to be competitive - look at how long it took RB to get to the front - and how long a full factory team in the form of Alpine have failed to get to the front...They're also the only team that want (have to use) the stty Renault PU.
They're not a benchmark for a constructor making a genuine new entry to the sport.

Alex is a very good driver. He would quite easily do well in a top seat. Like for many, Red Bull was toxic for him.
that's not right, though, is it?Albon is a very good driver, but, at RB, he went up against the best and came up short. No shame in that.
I'm sure he's grown as a driver and as a person since then, as is normal for humans to grow with experience. Just because he failed at the first attempt doesn't automatically mean he'd do the same thing again.
The right environment and way people work together is a key aspect.

I suppose Mercedes managed it in four years and arguably Audi have actually entered F1 this year, even if it's not with a works engine yet (I think they now own all of Sauber?). They also have the benefit of what I believe Newey called "the biggest single change to the technical regulations in the history of the sport" coming in 2026.
I still don't think they'll be competing for wins before about 2030, but I wouldn't say it's impossible that they hit the ground running.
I think it is much harder in a cost cap world...Mercedes did it free of any caps.I still don't think they'll be competing for wins before about 2030, but I wouldn't say it's impossible that they hit the ground running.
