procession fest next stop. Monaco.
I watched some of the Historic race there last weekend and it made such a change to see skinny cars passing each other. Just impossible with these F1 cars and i've never enjoyed the race or bought into the "tension" seeing one car closely follow another for the lead. 732NM said:

Alonso was half a second slower than GR's fastest in the end. Wasn't even close.
Obvious team decision to gain more points in the constructors. Of course George doesn't care about that. He can be a short sighted silly lad. It’s no wonder he’s a bit uppity from time to time.

I would say we have many token races in the season already.
From a safety perspective; the cars have well and truly outgrown the track. But we'll always race there until enough bad stuff happens.

It may be a money spinner but it's also an important link to the sports past imo.
Also the cars are due to start getting smaller 2026 onwards, so who knows - one day the GP might actually make sense again ..

I wouldn't mind seeing the cars blast through the Hockenheim forest again.

I know Formula E isn't well liked here, but they race the full Monaco circuit, and it's actually decent racing. The cars and very small and can race very closely, so it can be fun.It may be a money spinner but it's also an important link to the sports past imo.

Even three-abreast around the hairpin, it's decent stuff.
Remember, F1 at Monaco also means we get a few weeks of extra racing around there, including many of the Historique races, which are great to watch.

Generally boring race until Norris came out of his pain phase with the tyre and then we could've done with 3 more laps. Think Norris' overdriving cost him the chance of a couple of DRS runs down the back straight.
There was only one DRS zone on the start/finish ‘straight’.Forester1965 said:

I would argue Norris was on the limit and his tyres were wearing out RichB said:
I you judge the race on places gained (or lost) of the front runners Hamilton gained 2 places, Piastri 1 and Sainz and Russell lost one. Last few laps were fun but Max started at the front and won and Lando challenged him albeit to no avail. No one really stands out as driver of the day.
My driver of the day vote goes to the chap who drove half way across Europe to bag M1K3's free pit pass.g4ry13 said:

I'd argue he overcooked it in sector 1 a couple of times (nearly losing it at Villeneuve), overheated the tyres and the rest of those laps didn't gain on Verstappen as he had been doing. Some said "there's only 1 DRS zone". Yes, but I think Norris could've been within the DRS zone for 2 laps had he not overdriven earlier.

I don't know why people bother to complain tbh. It's obviously a relic in F1 terms but it's a bit of fun, quali is epic and it's 100% not going to leave the calendar so... Get over it

Caterhams. They should race Caterhams around Monaco. That'd be fun.Even three-abreast around the hairpin, it's decent stuff.
