Generally boring race until Norris came out of his pain phase with the tyre and then we could've done with 3 more laps. Think Norris' overdriving cost him the chance of a couple of DRS runs down the back straight.
Agreed!

It was only the last 3 laps, will LN pass MV or not, that kept my interest in the race.

I'm seriously considering not bothering with the whole race next week & just watching any highlights

procession fest next stop. Monaco.
I watched some of the Historic race there last weekend and it made such a change to see skinny cars passing each other. Just impossible with these F1 cars and i've never enjoyed the race or bought into the "tension" seeing one car closely follow another for the lead.
It's all about quali in Monaco, which is always fun. The GP is just a love letter to the history of the sport, nothing wrong with having one token race a year for the sake of tradition is there?
The tradition of Monaco should undoubtedly not be let go.

But with the amount of money swilling around there, they 100% could make the track more interesting. However, for some random reason, F1 allows itself to be bossed by the ACM and its refusal to even consider altering the layout.

As it is, it’s interesting for a lap or two as one remembers the ridiculous-ness of racing cars around there, then you recall how dull it is and just count down the time until the Indy 500 starts smile

It's not the track's fault. The current cars are too big and heavy, the aero concept designed for high speed and there really hasn't ever been much overtaking there, anyway. Senna and his 20ft wide car back in the day etc.

It really needs to rain and/or safety cars to make it interesting.

Did GR get fastest lap or did Alonso grab it with the last minute pit stop
Alonso was half a second slower than GR's fastest in the end. Wasn't even close.

He made it to the end in one piece, which for him is a good day.

Great to see Lando and the McLarens seemingly catching up with Max and RB.

Shame we didn’t have 3 more laps.

Not surprised but Kurt16 has exposed his reason for being here. Everyone should refuse to respond to any of his vapid bs! Be they RB/MB/Max/Lewis etc supporters - let's try to keep this forum respectful.

Every time...

Indeed - nothing contentious happened all race so there is only nonsense to chat about now it's over.

Roll on Monaco smile

The usual suspects are coming out of the woodwork now, I reported cart16, let's see if the mods think we don't need him here

Excellent end to the race, and great to see Lando right up there again. Piastri 14 seconds adrift though, again showing that he’s nowhere near as good in the race as he is over one lap.

rolleyes

Started 5th and finished 4th on a track which is very difficult to pass on.

I would not rush to come to that conclusion.

Indeed. Monaco is the annual nod to the history of the sport, where the real action is on Saturday and we accept that Sunday is as best a pit stop race.

Memories of 1992, when Senna pulled every trick in the book, and then made a up a few new ones, to keep Mansell behind him in the closing stages.

Agreed. The lad is still learning his trade (and some tracks), he’s one for the future imo.

A small mention also for Verstappen and his team winning their 24 hour sim race this weekend. Not a bad effort in between sessions driving an F1 car
