Morgan is one of those brands I just don't really get so fair to say, I'm not a fan of this. As others have said though, that totally modern steering wheel that looks like it could have come out of a Suzuki or something is absolutely, totally at odds with everything else...

That wood on top of the doors looks a bit odd, doubly so in the shot with the door open. Headlights look a bit jarring also - despite the awkward front end, i'd take an Aeromax coupe over this.
Just noticed that now you mention it. Suspect its there to get round a regulation aspect as it does look a bit odd now you highlight it.

I think it looks great but as others have noted the gear change is awful and needs a windscreen. In general the BMW knob looks awful in all Morgans.

Surely the wood is ash, not teak? Ash has been used as the formers for the frame on Morgans for a century. Surely they are celebrating that with now by showing it off and polishing it up. Makes no sense to suddenly start using teak?!

It's there to give the 1920s speedboat look I think. I quite like it.

100% this. I can’t unsee those wooden door sections. Do look like a clumsy nod to Health and Safety. Maybe your friendly dealer will unscrew them for you when you take delivery?

Agree with the previous comments on the gearstick and steering wheel, otherwise it looks great.

A friend works for Morgan and they were saying that the order books have dried up somewhat and the days of waiting years for a build slot are long gone.
I’d have one in a heartbeat but before the swapped to the new chassis they were around £30k new, now over £75k for a plus four. I’ve hired a couple and the last one not through choice had the auto box but actually I preferred it.

Wow. I... I... wow.

Superb. Like a retromod/speedster type 'o thing.

That is absolutely fantastic.

(I'm OK with the steering wheel)

Pretty but also pretty impractical. I always think Barchettas are pretty cynical pieces of engineering, as by losing the need to develop a roof ( something Morgan are notoriously poor at ) it just saves them a lot of money. It's probably called the Midsummer as that is the only day of the year it will ever be driven, if that much.

Still, puts £10m onto the sales line and suspect both companies could do with that at the mo.

I think, some interior details aside, it looks fantastic. Losing the headrests greatly improves the proportions to my eyes but I’m wondering whether it will look a bit odd again with a driver in it? They are obviously going to be very exposed and a very visible part of the aesthetic. May well be able to duck under a car park barrier though.

Lovely externally, apart from from the 1970s aftermarket style wheels. Interior a confused mishmsh of ancient and modern. Could be relatively easily changed, I guess.

Also, screen wipers too smallsmile

I thought that with the Bentley Blower review the other day - what's happened to the rules on roll bars etc?

100% agree with everything you've said. On top of that, as others have pointed out, that BMW gear selector is incongruent with the rest of the car.

The gear level (and surround) look terrible, and I think the steering wheel could be a bit more sympathetic to the rest of the design, but I like look the overall look... I think.

You die.

Flipping a car this low is really quite difficult though! It all comes down to how risk averse you are I suppose.

should've at least been trimmed in the red of the seats... along with the steering column shroud bit...

My goodness that's beautiful!

The only things that take away from the aesthetic are the steering wheel and drive selector, otherwise that's a fabulous piece of design.
THIS. Couldn't agree more.
