What’s the penalty for non-compliance?

I have a 1995 911/993.

If I'm understanding this correctly. I can't get a crit air and I will need avoid Rouen by going around it and through yvetot?

Anywhere else I need to avoid?

You can avoid Rouen through Yvetot, and there's a route the other side of Rouen too. Both ideal for a fast drive in the country.

Fines start at €68. The number of towns is increasing, but for routes to Le Mans from the UK, the only possible problem is central Paris

Have you tried a different browser? I've had issues with Explorer when payments won't go through on different sites so tend to rely on Firefox. Also had an issue yesterday using an app on iPad where payment was declined, so did same on web through laptop and worked fine.

Are you trying to register more than 1 car at a time? I had the same error message as was doing all 4 cars. Did them individually and no problem.

If the Chief Rozzer (or whoever is responsible for meeting the target of number of cars caught) wants to stand the highest chance of finding old cars driving through town then the days leading up to the 2 Le Mans events are going to be top of your list for sure.

(I suspect us law abiding (some say, jobsworth) Brits are actually more likely to have bought the stickers than our more laid back Gallic cousins).

I doubt it. Speeding, yes, Brits flagrantly disregarding their speed limits because we're immune from any lasting penalty over there is something they understandably get very upset about. Somebody only needs to be struck by a car once to die. But emissions restrictions in Rouen is not the same thing, a single journey through without a sticker is never going to cause a death that could have been prevented by having a sticker. I suspect they'll have far better uses for their resources that weekend.

It’s an opportunity to raise a lot of money very easily, would take very few officers if they decided to check cars at the traffic lights by the railway yards in Rouen and divert any without stickers off into a side road.
Only one way to find out I suppose, but seeing as it’s 6 of one and half a dozen of the other going through Rouen or going round I’ll be going round

I was doing 2 cars at once - it wouldn't accept it.

Had to pay slightly more as separate transactions but now just waiting for the postman

I assume then you regard their speed limit enforcement operations on Le Mans weekend as a revenue raining exercise? You see I don't. I see them as a response to the speeds many Brits have historically done on the way there and back. We don't think how we all look to Monsieur et Madame Meganne doing the speed limit as UK registered car after UK registered car blasts past them that weekend. We may think we're doing no harm, but it gets some locals' backs up and there are enough in power who believe "speed kills" that the police get prioritised to do something about it. We've only ourselves to blame, really.

I think Crit'Air enforcement for now will be much more like road tax enforcement was when we still had paper discs, back before ANPR enforcement. We'd be most likely to get caught for not having one if we get stopped for something else. It just wouldn't be practical, or popular with the locals, to set up a road block on the Rouen ring road and cause delays for all the residents too, just so they can inspect the windscreen of every passing car in the hope of catching out a few Brits. Especially not Le mans weekend when the same officers can be out saving lives (as the politicians see it) on speed enforcement duty.

Stopping cars going through Rouen would triple or quadruple pollution from the cars with stickers- can’t see it happening especially as mainly two lanes with loads of lorries.

Stopping at hotels and car Karl’s in Rouen is a risk.

Bigger risks of road blocks from protesters with gillet jaunes

I’m not sure they are going to stop them there. Much easier to pass the details on to the next Peage like they often do with speeding.

Has anyone managed to get through the online form successfully in the last week? It just keeps failing for me before I get to the payment options.

I get the error "An error has occurred. Your order has not been registered.
Advice: Repeat your order within 24 hours or use another bank card. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Straight after hitting the Pay Online button....didn't get a chance to enter a card.

I sorted it by reducing the resolution of the V5 image, even though it says less than 2MB it actually means less than 1MB. duh!

Thanks for that, I've been banging my head against the wall all Sunday trying to get it to work - reducing the file size to <1M this evening did the trick!

To be fair the Transport For London website is equally sh*t and has the same limitation so we can't just blame our French cousins for this one.
